    Abstract: A shell means for use with a mini electrical connector, comprises: a mating surface, two opposite lateral surfaces and a top surface wherein the top surface integrally extends from the right lateral surfaces. The lateral surfaces further include a plurality of first retentive sections thereon and the top surface includes a second retentive section thereon. A third retentive section is formed between the top surface and the left lateral surface for retaining the top surface and the left lateral surface together. A grounding portion integrally extends from either the top surface or the mating surface away from the shell means for electrically engaging with an exterior grounding conductor. By means of the first, the second and third retentive sections, the shell means is easily and actually assembled onto an insulative housing of the mini electrical connector for connector manufacturers.

    Abstract: A rear shielding shell for a USB plug connector is disclosed. The rear shielding shell defines a main body for connection with a front shielding shell, and a guiding sleeve for an extension of a cable therethrough to connect with contacts mounted to a dielectric body. The guiding sleeve is formed with a retaining portion by applying a cutting operation to the guiding sleeve. The retaining portion can be extended onto the cable extending through the sleeve and fixedly engage therewith and reduce a gap between the cable and the sleeve.

    Abstract: An electrical connector comprises an elongate insulating housing including a plurality of first and second passageways, a central cavity recessed on a rear surface communicating the passageways for mating a mating electrical connector and a plurality of conductive contacts received in the first and second passageways for transmitting signals and for supplying power, respectively. The central cavity comprises separation walls for prevention of undesired conductive contacting between the conductive contacts. The passageways include an open space extending a various depth from a front surface of the insulating housing and communicating at least one adjacent open space. A wall is provided between each adjacent pair of the open spaces for at least partially separating the adjacent pair of open spaces. A metal shell is provided for prevention of electromagnetic interference and a metal cap is provided for mechanically connecting with a cable.

    Abstract: A cable connector assembly comprises a plug section, and a cable end section. The plug section includes an insulating, a number of conductive contacts received in the insulating housing, and a metal shell surrounding the plug section. The insulating housing comprises a front engaging portion, a middle main body having passageways defined therethrough, and a rear supporting portion. The conductive contacts are received in the passageways and each extends at one end into the engaging portion and at the other end into the supporting portion connected to the cable end section. The main body includes a pair of blocks stopped by edges of the metal shell and a number of protrusions, on its surface, received in a number of openings on the metal shell. The metal shell comprises a number of inward bulges on a surface in interference fit with the insulating housing, a pair of beam portion extending from its rear corners, and a pair of indents on its surface.

    Abstract: An electrical connector for electrically connecting an exterior mating connector to a circuit board, mainly comprises an insulative housing, a shell means and a plurality of contacts. The insulative housing includes a plurality of walls wherein the top wall and the opposing lateral walls thereof each form a first retention. The shell means includes a plurality of surfaces wherein the top surface and the opposing lateral surfaces each form a second retention for being retained with said first retentions of the housing. Accordingly, the retentive effect between the shell means and the housing is enhanced. Additionally, the shell means further includes a pair of grounding portions each consisting of a connecting section, an engaging section and a protrusion for providing a grounding function wherein the protrusion enlarges a solder contact area with a soldering paste pre-coated on a surface of the circuit board for further enhancing the retention between the shell means and the circuit board.
