  • Patent number: 9350275
Abstract: An apparatus for a quasi variable frequency motor controller is includes a DFC module that applies a first frequency to a motor as part of a discrete frequency control (“DFC”) method for motor starting. The first frequency includes a discrete frequency in a plurality of discrete frequencies of the DFC method and each discrete frequency includes a frequency lower than a fundamental frequency of an alternating current (“AC”) voltage source providing power to the motor. The apparatus includes a torque module that determines when motor torque generated by the motor reaches a negative torque threshold and a next frequency module that applies a second frequency to the motor in response to the torque module determining that the motor torque has reached the negative torque threshold. The second frequency is a next frequency in the DFC method.

  • Publication number: 20150338148
Abstract: An ice shaving machine includes a base, a main body mounted on the base and having a platform provided with a shaving blade, a limit module mounted on the platform, and a rotation disk mounted in the main body. The limit module has an inner periphery provided with a receiving space. Thus, the ice block is limited by the limit module so that the ice block will not produce vibration during rotation to keep the stability and safety of the ice shaving machine during operation. In addition, the limit module has a central point the same as that of the platform so that when the ice block is received in the receiving space of the limit module and is shaved by the shaving blade, the force from the ice block is distributed evenly and smoothly on the shaving blade.

  • Publication number: 20150333685
Abstract: An apparatus includes a switch module that selectively turns on a switch to connect an input power conductor connected to a voltage source to a motor in a sequence. The switch for each phase is turned on for a portion of a cycle of a fundamental frequency of the voltage source. A source phase module determines a phase of the AC voltage source, a back-EMF phase module determines a phase of a back-EMF of the motor, and a torque module determines when a phase difference between the phase of the AC voltage source and the phase of the back-EMF is within a phase range indicative of a positive motor torque. A pulse module enables the switches in response to the phase difference having a phase within the phase range and disables the switches in response to the phase difference having a phase not in the phase range.

  • Patent number: 9018919
Abstract: Various embodiments of a battery detector are provided. In one aspect, a battery detector of a portable electronic device is applied to a battery module without an identification (ID) terminal. When the portable electronic device receives a direct current (DC) voltage provided by an external transformer to conduct a startup procedure, the battery detector detects whether the battery module is connected to the portable electronic device or not, and prevents the portable electronic device from conducting erroneous operations.

Abstract: The present techniques generally relate to a system and methods for remotely monitoring the interior of a closed electrical enclosure for localized heating (e.g., hot spots). In general, the monitoring system includes features designed to detect one or more hot spots within a dim or dark environment, determine the location of the hot spot within the enclosure, determine a temperature range of the hot spot, and/or notify (e.g., alarm or alert) an operator upon detection of the hot spot. The monitoring system may include one or more temperature sensitive elements configured to determine the heating of potential hot spots within the electrical enclosure. Further, the foregoing features may be designed to allow one or more electrical enclosures to remotely communicate with computer equipment (e.g., workstation or general purpose computers) over a wireless network.

  • Patent number: 8817432
Abstract: A driver circuit has a pad that may be utilized for programming a core circuit or receiving a data signal. A trace high circuit receives a pad voltage signal from the pad, and outputs a trace high voltage approximating a higher voltage of the pad voltage signal and the power supply voltage. A level shifter and a first inverter output a pull high control signal generated by inverting and level shifting a programming control signal. An ESD blocking circuit selectively blocks the pad voltage signal from reaching the core circuit depending on the pad voltage signal and the level-shifted programming control signal. A pull high circuit receives the pull high control signal and the power supply voltage, and outputs the power supply voltage to the core circuit when the pull high control signal is lower than the power supply voltage.

  • Publication number: 20140122403
Abstract: A loading prediction method, applicable to an electronic device, includes the following steps. Multiple resource loading records of the electronic device at multiple time periods are recorded, respectively. A predicted time point is received. A time difference between the predicted time point and a current time point is calculated. The predicted time point is greater than the current time point on a timeline. Whether the time difference is less than a threshold value is determined. A regression-based prediction according to the resource loading records is performed when the time difference is less than the threshold value. A clustering-based prediction according to the resource loading records is performed when the time difference is not less than the threshold value.

  • Patent number: 8458049
Abstract: An item designation machine receives a seller-generated description of an item available for sale. The description is received from a seller of the item. The item designation machine identifies a proposed designation of the item based on the description of the item and presents the proposed designation to the seller. Where the seller refuses the proposed designation and selects a primary designation of the item distinct from the proposed designation, the item designation machine receives the selection from the seller and identifies the proposed designation as a secondary designation of the item. The item designation machine stores the primary and secondary designations in an item record within an item database of the network-based publication system. The item record indicates that the item is a specimen of the primary and secondary designations. The item designation machine lists the item as available for sale.

  • Patent number: 8443449
Abstract: Upon detection of a suspicious file, a client computer sends feedback data to an anti-malware service over the Internet. Files that are not suspicious or that are known clean are not reported; files that are known malware are acted upon immediately without needing to report them to the anti-malware service. Upon detection, no alert or warning is provided to the user of the client computer. The anti-malware service correlates data from other detection engines on the client computer or from other client computers and determines whether the file is malware or not. A new virus pattern is generated if the file is malware and includes the virus signature of the file; the new virus pattern is distributed back to the client computers. If not malware, no action need be taken, or, the virus signature of the file is removed from existing pattern files.
