Abstract: A method for controlling layer changes for an optical disk drive is provided, where a focus of a laserbeam emitted by a pickup head of the optical disk drive is moved from a current data layer of a disk to a target data layer of the disk. First, a position of a collimator lens of the pickup head is adjusted for spherical aberration correction. The objective lens is then lowered to a low position to move the focus of the laserbeam off the surface of the disk. The objective lens is then raised towards the disk. A focusing error signal is generated while the objective lens is being raised. Whether a target S-curve corresponding to the target data layer is present in the focusing error signal is then started to be detected. If the target S-curve is detected, the focus on operation on the target data layer of the disk is successful.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for fabricating polymer wavelength filter with high-resolution periodical structure, which comprises: a positive photo-resister film is coated or a substrate, holographically exposed with grating pattern, and coated with a negative photo-resister film, then exposed by UV light and developed to obtain a waveguide mold having negative waveguide; a PDMS film coated on the waveguide mold, baked and peeled off to obtain a PDMS mold; a first tunnel formed over the PDMS mold, injected with a first UV polymer, then cured and separated the first UV polymer having groove to be the cladding layer of the polymer wavelength filter; a second UV polymer injected into the groove of the cladding layer, and cured to form the core of the waveguide in the groove of the cladding layer to finally be the polymer wavelength filter.

Abstract: An apparatus capable of inter-carrier interference (ICI) cancellation in a communication system, the apparatus comprising a detecting module configured to detect an ISI-free region free from inter-symbol interference (ISI) in a guard interval (GI) of a symbol in time domain, a windowing module configured to provide a windowing function in time domain, identifying a weight value in the windowing function based on the ISI-free region, and multiplying a channel response related to the symbol by the windowing function in time domain to obtain a windowing result, wherein the windowing result comprises a first portion corresponding to the ISI-free region and a second region corresponding to an end portion of the symbol, the end portion and the ISI-free region having the same length, and a combination module configured to combine the first portion and the second portion of the windowing result in time domain.

Abstract: A scroll compressor including a block, a fixed scroll, an orbiting scroll, a crankshaft, an Oldham ring and an oil passage is provided, wherein the fixed scroll is fixed on the block, and the orbiting scroll, the crankshaft and the Oldham ring are disposed on the block. The fixed scroll and the orbiting scroll form a gas-in area, a compressing area and a gas-out area which are connected in a series. The orbiting scroll is eccentric connected with the crankshaft to orbit over the fixed scroll and drive the Oldham ring moving. A reciprocating motion area on the block is formed via the reciprocating motion between the block and the Oldham ring, wherein the block has an oil opening in the reciprocating motion area. Besides, one terminal of the oil passage is connected to the oil opening, and another terminal of the oil passage is connected to the gas-in area and the compressing area.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for fabricating polymeric wavelength filter, which method for forming gratings patterns on the UV polymer involves three processing steps. First, a gratings pattern is holographically exposed using a two-beam interference pattern on a positive photo-resister film. A 20-nm-thick nickel thin film is then sputtered onto the positive photo-resister film to form a nickel mold. This nickel mold on the photo-resister film then can be subsequently used to transfer the final gratings pattern onto a UV cure epoxy polymer. Whereby, a polymer film can be spun coated on the cure epoxy substrate so as to simplify the fabrication process for obtaining a polymer wavelength filter with good aspect ratio of gratings pattern.

The main circuit board has a pluggable electric connector for connections with the electric connector of the electronic device. The light transceiver module can be used to simplify and optimize the devices using it.

Abstract: A method for performing a servo defect compensating operation by compensating a servo-related signal in an optical disc drive and a related optical disc drive system with a DSP is provided. The method comprises: reading an optical medium by an optical pick-up unit; detecting whether a defect exists by monitoring a side beam signal; when the defect on the optical medium is detected, determining a new compensation value based on a servo error signal; and compensating the servo-related signal with the new compensation value during defect crossing to adjust servo control when the optical pick-up unit passes the defect.

The scroll type compressor includes a housing, a frame, a compartment, a separator, a scroll pairs, a slider, a plurality of compartments, at least a pressure-regulating mechanism, and a guiding element. The compartment in the housing is separated into a high-pressure compartment, a low-pressure compartment, and a middle-pressure compartment. The separator is disposed between the high-pressure compartment and the low-pressure compartment. The separator includes an outlet at the center thereof, and at least a passage through the separator. When the pressure in the high-pressure compartment is less than that in low-pressure compartment, the pressure-regulating mechanism is opened to exhaust pressure from the middle-pressure compartment to the high-pressure compartment.
