  • Patent number: 4907701
Abstract: An apparatus for inspecting the appearance of a semiconductor device has an imaging device which forms an image of the outside of a semiconductor device. An image analyzer analyzes the image and determines whether the semiconductor device is good or bad. A semiconductor device to be inspected is removed from a first conveyor on the periphery of a turntable by a vacuum chuck which is mounted on the turntable, and the semiconductor device is transported to in front of the imaging device by a turntable. If the semiconductor device is determined to be good, the turntable transports the semiconductor device to a second conveyor on the periphery of the turntable, and the vacuum chuck deposits the semiconductor device on the second conveyor. If the semiconductor device is determined to be bad, the turntable transports the semiconductor device to a discard receiving mechanism on the periphery of the turntable, and the vacuum chuck deposits the semiconductor device on the discard receiving mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4618811
Abstract: A voltage regulator for a charging generator is disclosed which comprises an a.c. generator having armature windings and a field winding, and a battery which receives the rectified output of the a.c. generator and is charged by the same. The voltage regulator regulates the output voltage of the a.c. generator by controlling the current flowing through the field winding. To prevent the output voltage of the a.c. generator from becoming a high voltage when a connecting wire connecting the rectified output of the a.c. generator to the battery is broken, the regulator also includes an abnormality detection means which compares the rectified output of the a.c. generator with the battery voltage and detects the abnormality when both voltages are different by more than a predetermined value. This arrangement makes it possible to detect the abnormality at the point of time where the output voltage of the a.c. generator is not yet very high.

  • Patent number: 4368239
Abstract: A magnetic recording medium having low friction coefficient and superior in aging characteristics is disclosed. The magnetic recording medium is provided with a lubricant which is strongly bonded to the magnetic recording medium by a bombardment of an electron beam. In one embodiment, the lubricant containing a molecular chain having a lubricating property, and a double bond sensitive to dissociation products such as free radicals are coated on a magnetic layer and then electron beam irradiates the magnetic layer. A radical reaction then occurs causing a covalent bond of the lubricant to the magnetic recording layer.

  • Patent number: 3977607
Abstract: The projecting nozzle for powder coating is a device for dispersing finely divided powder paint particles in a pattern controlled by swirling air without accumulating unwanted powder particles. A hollow nozzle is located concentrically to a guide member forming a gap through which the powder is projected. Orifices and, or slits located in the guide member direct compressed air in a swirling motion. A porous plate, forming the front of the guide member allows air to pass therethrough and thereby prevents the accumulation of powder particles.
