An application seeking to communicate acquires the registration information for a desired recipient from the lookup table. The application uses the registration information to select communication protocols necessary to communicate with the recipient.

    Abstract: Detecting statuses of driving units of an active-matrix organic light emitting diode (AMOLED) may reveal defects in the manufacturing process. This helps to detect and remove defective elements earlier in the manufacturing process before forming luminous layers in an AMOLED so as to decrease loss of organic materials and manufacturing time, and to increase yield significantly in the later part of the manufacturing process. The tested AMOLED includes a plurality of voltage sources, a plurality of pixel electrodes, and a plurality of driving units corresponding to the pixel electrodes respectively. Each driving unit includes a first TFT, a second TFT, and a storage capacitor. Defective elements of each driving unit can be detected by checking the detection results.

    Abstract: An art is provided to realize a current emitting device capable of emitting current of higher density under the same or lower onset emission voltage. The current emitting device is preferably an array of carbon nanotubes or a film including carbon nanotubes. The art is based on using O2, and/or O3, and/or CO2, and/or NO2, and/or SO2, and/or SO3 to oxidize a current emitting device composed of material including carbon, until the current emitting device has at least part thereof changed in shape. The current emitting device thus processed works better with a display, or becomes capable of emitting current of higher density under the same or lower onset emission voltage. As far as experiments showed, the emitted current density achieved by the art can be eight times the amount emitted by an array of nanotubes having not been processed according to the art, and the onset emission voltage can be lowered by the art from 0.8 V/?m to 0.5 V/?m.

    Abstract: A heat pipe (50) and a method (100) of producing the heat pipe are disclosed. The method includes the following steps: (1) inserting a mandrel (10) into a hollow metal casing (20) with a porous structure (30) combined to an outer surface of the mandrel; (2) filling powders (40) into a space formed between the hollow metal casing and the porous structure; (3) sintering the filled powders; (4) drawing the mandrel out of the hollow metal casing; and (5) sealing the hollow metal casing with a working fluid filled therein. The heat pipe produced by this method includes a composite wick structure (60) arranged in the hollow metal casing. By using this method, the mandrel can be easily drawn out of the hollow metal casing after the filled powders are sintered.

    Abstract: An image acquiring device with background filtering function includes a scanning module, a color splitting module and an image processing module. The scanning module includes a CCD sensor for sensing a document image signal travelling along an optical path. The CCD sensor has red, green, blue and white light sensing member sets. A data transmission speed of the white light sensing member set is greater than that of each of the red, green and blue light sensing member sets. The color splitting module disposed on the optical path only lets one of red, green and blue light pass through at a time under a filtering mode. The white light sensing member set receives the red, green or blue light outputted from the color splitting module. Then, the image processing module recognizes a brightness value of a pixel, which exceeds a predetermined value, and compensates for the brightness value of this pixel to generate a brightness value corresponding to a white.
