    Abstract: A flat panel display device (FPD) and fabricating method thereof are disclosed, which reduce the number of masks during fabrication and prevent electro-chemical corrosion problems. In the FPD, a cell area and a pad area are defined on a substrate. A storage electrode traverses an active layer in parallel to a gate line. Source and drain regions of the active layer in the vicinity of both sides of a gate electrode are not formed below the storage electrode. An insulating interlayer over the substrate has first and second contact holes on the source and drain regions, respectively. A source electrode contacts the source region via a first contact hole and a drain electrode contacts the drain region via a second contact hole to directly contact a pixel electrode. A protective layer is disposed over the substrate including the pixel electrode.

Further, by using a half-tone mask and diffraction exposure process, a desired uneven surface may be formed on the reflective part of the pixel region without resorting to thermal processes that may otherwise degrade an insulating layer under the reflective electrode. Accordingly, an organic insulating material may be used between the transmissive electrode and the reflective electrode.

    Abstract: A transflective liquid crystal display includes gate and data lines perpendicular to each other and defining a plurality of unit pixels. Each unit pixel includes a plurality of sub-pixel regions, which each have a transmissive portions and a reflective portion. The transmissive portions are gathered together within each unit pixel at corners of the sub-pixel regions opposing corners in which thin film transistors near the crossings of the gate and data lines are disposed. A passivation layer covering the thin film transistors and the gate and data lines has an opening that corresponds to the transmissive portions in the unit pixel. A reflector is formed over the passivation layer in each sub-pixel region and corresponds in position to the reflective portion. A pixel electrode in each sub-pixel region contacts the thin film transistor through a contact hole in the passivation layer.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a server system for performing communication over a wireless network that can avoid data transmission delay due to the variation of a wireless network state and can carry out a real-time transmission operation. A network renderer provided in a server device includes a separate ring buffer so that it can be functionally separated from an encoder. Alternatively, the network renderer includes a thread transmission module for discarding part of data according to the network state and carrying out a thread transmission operation. Therefore, the server system avoids transmission delay due to the variation of a wireless network environment or data loss/error due to encoding delay caused by data congestion in the encoder. The server system comprises at least one client device and a server device for performing a state monitoring operation or a control operation for the client device over the wireless network. When a data packet is sent, the server device begins to send a following packet by variably applying a transmission rate according to a network transmission state when a leading packet has been completely transmitted. Because a transmission rate can be set appropriately to the network state, the number of unnecessary retransmissions can be reduced.
