  • Publication number: 20140179328
Abstract: A method and apparatus for handling a control channel for carrier aggregation in wireless communications. The method includes determining which component carrier to listen to, detecting the downlink control channel, processing mapping information related to downlink and uplink transmissions and operating discontinuous reception with respect to carrier aggregation. The method also includes detecting a component carrier, determining the component carrier type and locating the anchor component carrier, if necessary, where the anchor component carrier carries the carrier aggregation information.

  • Publication number: 20080069280
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting an overlap of an E-DCH transmission or retransmission in TTIs that overlap with an assigned uplink compressed mode gap is disclosed. More specifically, detecting an overlap of an E-DCH transmission or retransmission in TTIs that overlap with an uplink compressed mode gap assigned by a Node B when a WTRU is configured with a 2 ms TTI is disclosed. After detecting the overlap of the E-DCH transmission or retransmission and the uplink compressed mode gap, the E-DCH transmission or retransmission is paused.

  • Publication number: 20080049709
Abstract: A multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) scheme uses precoding and feedback in a wireless communication system including a transmitter and a receiver. The system may use either a single codeword (SCW) or a double codeword (DCW). The precoding scheme is based on transmit beamforming (TxBF). Combined differential and non-differential feedback with periodic resetting is considered.

  • Publication number: 20080013516
Abstract: A method and apparatus for synchronization in an orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) evolved universal terrestrial radio access (E-UTRA) system including at least one base station and a plurality of wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs). A secondary synchronization channel (S-SCH) symbol is generated to include cell-specific information. The S-SCH symbol is mapped to the center of the available bandwidth of the system. In one embodiment, the S-SCH symbol is transmitted on different subcarriers at different sectors in the system. In another embodiment, the S-SCH symbol is transmitted on the same subcarriers at different sectors in the system.

  • Publication number: 20070297386
Abstract: A method and system for scheduling uplink transmissions in a single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) system are disclosed. A Node-B receives a scheduling request from a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). The Node-B selects at least one subcarrier block having a certain bandwidth for the WTRU based on quality of service (QoS) requirement of the WTRU. If the QoS requirement is high, the Node-B selects at least one subcarrier block having a large bandwidth and if the QoS requirement is low, the Node-B selects at least one subcarrier block having a small bandwidth. The Node-B then schedules uplink transmissions in a time domain and/or a frequency domain based on a predetermined factor. The Node-B may perform frequency and/or time hopping in scheduling the uplink transmissions.

  • Publication number: 20070291696
Abstract: A method and apparatus for random access in an evolved universal terrestrial radio access (E-UTRA) system are disclosed. For code division multiplexing (CDM), a basic preamble is generated using a constant amplitude zero auto-correlation (CAZAC) sequence. The basic preamble is repeated for M time for generating a random access channel (RACH) preamble. For time division multiplexing/frequency division multiplexing (TDM/FDM), an extended CAZAC sequence is used to generate the basic preamble. Alternatively, a hybrid RACH access period including at least one CDM random access slot and at least one TDM/FDM random access slot may be provided.

  • Publication number: 20070265037
Abstract: A wireless communication system includes a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). The WTRU is configured to generate at least one local codebook based on a baseline codebook, and select a codeword from the local codebook that is associated with feedback.
