  • Publication number: 20170130413
Abstract: In its various embodiments the water current shield may be used to improve safety for a diver and/or a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) by shielding them from water currents at an underwater work site, thereby allowing them to avoid excess fatigue from the water currents at the underwater work site. It may also extend an environmental range in which projects can proceed without facing the need to go on weather standby or off hire. The water current shield generally comprises a frame; a predetermined set of louver assemblies operatively connected to the frame, where each louver assembly comprises one or more selectably movable louvers; and a louver mover operatively connected to each selectably movable louver.

  • Patent number: 9631738
Abstract: A hydraulic valve arrangement includes a manifold and a poppet. The manifold defines a bleed ring that surrounds a bore and has an angled surface. The manifold also defines an annular recess around the bleed ring that provides a relief region. The poppet is slidably disposed within the bore and is structured to close a main flow path between the first and second ports when the poppet is in a first position and the poppet being structured to at least partially open the main flow path when the poppet slides away from the first position. The poppet defines an angled contact surface that is configured to engage the angled contact surface of the bleed ring when the poppet is in the first position.

  • Publication number: 20170016825
Abstract: Embodiments as disclosed herein may include a sensor including a luminophor exposed to a fluid flow path. The luminophor may emit light in response to illumination by an excitation light source. The magnitude of light emitted by the luminophor in response to illumination may be determined. It can be determined if this magnitude is within a threshold of the baseline magnitude and an alarm state set based on this determination. This alarm state may indicate that the luminophor has reached an end-of-life state or otherwise should be replaced.

  • Patent number: 9541539
Abstract: Embodiments of a dissolved oxygen sensor are disclosed herein. Embodiments as disclosed herein may include a window of optically transparent material disposed in an opening in a fluid flow path, where a luminophor is attached to the side of the window exposed to the fluid in the flow path. An optical probe may be disposed opposite the window from the fluid flow path on an axis at an angle to the window fluid flow path. The optical probe includes an excitation light source for illumination of the luminophor and a reference light source. An optical reception guide is configured to conduct light from the luminophor to a photodiode adjacent to the end of the optical reception guide distal the window when the luminophor is illuminated by the excitation light source. The optical probe is configured to determine a measure of oxygen concentration of the fluid in the flow path.

  • Patent number: 9469971
Abstract: A hydraulic system is adapted to recover potential and kinetic energy of a work attachment of a work machine. A valve arrangement may configure the hydraulic system in various modes. The hydraulic system may provide suspension and/or actuation for the work attachment. The energy of the work attachment may move a rod of a first cylinder. The rod may pressurize fluid within the first cylinder. The pressurized fluid may flow from the first cylinder through a valve and into an accumulator. The first cylinder may amplify pressure of the fluid. The pressurized fluid in the accumulator may actuate the first cylinder. The movement of the rod of the first cylinder may cause simultaneous actuation of a second cylinder. A controller may monitor pressures and positions of components of the hydraulic system and control the valve arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20160228885
Abstract: A water outlet structure for generating candle flame shaped water and a shower head mounting the same comprises a water inlet passage to collecting water, a hemisphere water chamber formed at the bottom of the water inlet passage, a V shaped through groove set at the bottom of the hemisphere water chamber and an axis of the V shaped through groove located on an outside of the axis of the water inlet passage and forming a fixed angle. The water flows are concentrated and the water pressure is increased due to a mutation when the water flows through the intersection area between the hemisphere water chamber and the V shaped through groove, and by a further angle deviating, a much more intense collision effect is generated inside the channel. A larger area showering, favourable impact force, particle feeling and water saving are achieved.
