  • Patent number: 7512843
Abstract: An apparatus and method interleaving symbols coded by a turbo encoder in a communication system that uses the turbo encoder for encoding transmission information into coded systematic symbols and at least one parity symbol pair, and maps the coded symbols using a second or higher modulation order before transmission. An interleaver controller performs a control operation of cyclic-shifting the systematic symbols among the symbols coded by the turbo encoder depending on a size of a physical packet to be transmitted, the number of transmission slots, and the modulation order, using an equation of (K×c+k)mod R, and cyclic-shifting redundancy symbols constituting the remaining size of the coded symbols to be transmitted, using an equation of floor{(K×c+k)/D}mod R. An interleaver cyclic-shifts input symbols under the control of the interleaver controller.

  • Publication number: 20090059884
Abstract: A method from transmitting data via multiple antennas. In this method, four information bits to be transmitted are multiplexed by using either one of a code division multiplexing scheme or a second code division multiplexing scheme combined with a real and imaginary multiplexing scheme, to generate a code division multiplexed symbol including four vectors. Then, the code division multiplexed symbol is repeatedly transmitted by alternatively applying two transmit diversity schemes via four transmission antennas.

  • Publication number: 20090055703
Abstract: An apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving a Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) Acknowledge/Negative acknowledge (ACK/NACK) signal in a mobile communication system. The present invention distributes a CDM segment, to which an ACK/NACK signal is mapped, in the frequency domain of an OFDM symbol, and repeatedly transmits the CDM segment, thereby providing diversity gain in the time-frequency domain. Further, the present invention provides a mapping rule for distributing transmit power between OFDM symbols to which the ACK/NACK signal is mapped and transmitted, thereby preventing the case where a particular OFDM symbol is power-overloaded, and thus contributing to improvement of the entire system performance.

  • Publication number: 20090041139
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting/receiving pilot symbols for demodulation of control channel information in the uplink of a wireless communication system are provided. When an Evolved Node B (ENB) expects to receive both the Channel Quality Information (CQI) and the Acknowledgement (ACK)/Negative ACK (NACK) from a User Equipment (UE) in a certain subframe, if the UE transmits only the CQI channel, the ENB is prevented to detect the nonexistent ACK/NACK information from the CQI channel, thereby avoiding false alarm.

  • Publication number: 20090022627
Abstract: A color-changing adsorption fabric is provided to identify an adsorption state of a type of chemical, e.g., acid, alkali or organic matter, the color change being generated through a chemical reaction between chemical solution and pH-indicator material after wiping the chemical solution with the fabric. An adsorption fabric used in wiping the chemical solution may include a material, whose color changes when contacting an acid, alkali or organic matter, thereby identifying a type of chemical solution and thus preventing or reducing a fire occurrence. • Publication number: 20090003486
Abstract: A method and apparatus for mapping coded data symbols to resources in a mobile communication system. An S/P converter converts a serial signal including user data or control information into a plurality of parallel signals. A DFT unit performs Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) on the parallel signals output from the S/P converter. A controller controls the DFT unit so that among the signals output from the S/P converter, a control channel is mapped in the maximum available resources to which the control channel can be mapped, among the resources included in a resource block, and data symbols are mapped to the remaining resources, except for the maximum available resources to which the control channel can be mapped. A subcarrier mapper allocates the signals output from the DFT unit to subcarriers. An RF processor converts a signal output from the subcarrier mapper into a radio signal.
