Abstract: A wagering game system and its operations are described herein. In some embodiments, the operations can include determining that a wagering game system account associated with a player should be awarded a system-wide game modifier based on the players system-wide gaming activity. The operations can also include determining when the player selects each wagering game of a plurality of wagering games selected by the player for play via the wagering game system. The operations can further include, for each wagering game of the plurality of wagering games selected by the player via the wagering game system, determining that the wagering game system account associated with the player has been awarded the system-wide game modifier, and modifying the wagering game based on predefined game modification specifications associated with the wagering game and the system-wide game modifier.

Abstract: A method and system for video-content based retrieval is described. A query video depicting an activity is processed using interest point selection to find locations in the video that are relevant to that activity. A set of spatio-temporal descriptors such as self-similarity and 3-D SIFT are calculated within a local neighborhood of the set of interest points. An indexed video database containing videos similar to the query video is searched using the set of descriptors to obtain a set of candidate videos. The videos in the video database are indexed hierarchically using a vocabulary tree or other hierarchical indexing mechanism.

Abstract: Some of the embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method comprising providing an apparatus, wherein the apparatus is configured to be coupled to (i) a peripheral device and (ii) a host device. The apparatus includes memory configured to store logic, wherein the logic is configured to (i) allow the host device and the peripheral device to communicate with each other and (ii) operate the peripheral device. The apparatus further includes a processor configured to execute the logic. The method further comprises bundling the apparatus with a consumable product for sale with the consumable product, wherein the consumable product is configured to be consumed by the peripheral device.

Abstract: A positive electrode material having a nominal stoichiometry Li1+y/2Co1?x?y?z?dSizFexMyM?d(PO4)1+y/2 where M is a trivalent cation selected from at least one of Cr, Ti, Al, Mn, Ni, V, Sc, La and/or Ga, M? is a divalent cation selected from at least one of Mn, Ni, Zn, Sr, Cu, Ca and/or Mg, y is within a range of 0<y?0.10 and x is within a range of 0?x?0.2. The use of double compositional modification to LiCoPO4 increases the discharge capacity from ˜100 mAh/g to about 130 mAh/g while retaining the discharge capacity retention of the singly Fe-substituted LiCoPO4. Additional compositional modification to include Si increases the cycle life and greatly improved the coulombic efficiency to between 97-100% at a C/3 cycle rate.

Abstract: An apparatus for detecting thermal and epithermal neutrons. The apparatus includes a first radiation responsive element configured to absorb substantially all incident thermal neutrons and produce first light scintillations indicative of the absorbed thermal neutrons and a second radiation responsive element configured to produce second light scintillations indicative of at least epithermal neutrons that traverse the first radiation responsive element. Also disclosed are borehole logging methods and apparatuses for estimating formation properties using nuclear radiation, particularly an apparatus and method for estimating parameters of a formation. The method may include using neutron count rate information from a detector to model porosity or salinity. The apparatus includes a processor and storage subsystem with a program that, when executed, implements the method.

Abstract: A method and system for disabling functions of a movement detection enabled device is provided. The method includes monitoring a movement detection signal of the movement detection enabled device in a vehicle and determining that the vehicle is currently in motion. An electronic tag in the vehicle is detected and instructions associated with the movement detection enabled device are retrieved. It is determined that the movement detection enabled device is located within a specified proximity to a driver location of the vehicle and that a user of the device is a driver of the vehicle. In response, specified functions of the movement detection enabled device are disabled.

The computer processor receives a selection for an option and generates a modified queue list.

Abstract: Described is a system for supporting human intelligence analysis. The system detects changes in social relations among users within a dynamic information network and enables understanding of a current social situation in the dynamic information network through multiple integrated modules. An active network mining module identifies incomplete data that is related to at least one change in the social relations and resolves conflicting and missing data in the dynamic information network. A relevant network discovery module constructs a relevant network from hidden relations within the dynamic information network. An information-aware social network module constructs an information-aware social network using the relevant network, then classifies and prioritizes items of interest to provide an assessment of a current social situation to a user.

Abstract: Methods are provided to make composite yarns having a filamentary core with at least one elastic performance filament and at least one inelastic control filament. A fibrous sheath, preferably formed from spun staple fibers, surrounds the filamentary core, preferably substantially along the entire length thereof. The at least one elastic performance filament most preferably includes a spandex and/or a lastol filament. The at least one inelastic control filament is most preferably formed of a textured polymer or copolymer of a polyamide, a polyester, a polyolefin and mixtures thereof. Preferably, the fibrous sheath is formed of synthetic and/or natural staple fibers, most preferably staple cotton fibers. The elastic composite fibers find particular utility as a component part of a woven textile fabric, especially as a stretch denim fabric, which exhibits advantageous elastic recovery of at least about 95.0% (ASTM D3107).

Abstract: A method and apparatus for improving a performance of a system. An influence network is generated for an array of elements in the system using a reconfiguration algorithm. The influence network indicates an influence of an undesired event occurring at any element in the array of elements on a remaining portion of the array of elements given a current state of the array of elements. A relative ranking of vulnerability is created for elements in the array of elements based on the influence network. The reconfiguration algorithm is modified to take into account the relative ranking of vulnerability to form a modified reconfiguration algorithm. The system using the modified reconfiguration algorithm to compensate for undesired events improves the performance of the system.

Abstract: Described is a cyber security system for digital artifact genetic modeling and forensic analysis. The system identifies the provenance (origin) of a digital artifact by first receiving a plurality of digital artifacts, each digital artifact possessing features. Raw features are extracted from the digital artifacts. The raw features are classified into descriptive genotype-phonotype structures. Finally, lineage, heredity, and provenance of the digital artifacts are determined based on mapping of the genotype-phenotype structures.
