  • Publication number: 20050107219
Abstract: An arm motion assembly for an exercise device includes a first link which is pivotally affixed to a frame portion of the exercise device at a first pivot point so as to be capable of reciprocal motion thereabout. The assembly includes a second link which is pivotally affixed to a second frame portion of the exercise device at a second pivot point separated from the first pivot point so that the second link is capable of reciprocal motion about the second pivot point. The assembly includes a connector link which extends between the first link and the second link. The connector link is pivotally joined to the first link at a first junction point and to the second link at a second junction point so that when one of said first links and said second links reciprocates about its respective pivot point the connector link causes the other of said links to pivot about its respective pivot point. The assembly includes a handgrip which is affixed to the connector link or to one of the first and second links.

  • Publication number: 20040208304
Abstract: A system and methods through which incoming calls to and/or outgoing calls from a telephone can be controlled. The present invention utilizes an authorized caller list to determine whether an incoming call should be connected, and a similar list to determine whether an outgoing call should be connected. The present invention can also facilitate the use of new telephone user interfaces, including by iterating through telephone numbers associated with a contact, until communications with the contact are established.

  • Patent number: 6771317
Abstract: An electronic program schedule system with product ordering capability which includes a data processor for receiving program schedule information for a plurality of programs, and a user control apparatus, such as a remote controller, for generating user control commands and transmitting signals to the data processor in response thereto. The television program schedule information is displayed on a display apparatus such as a television receiver. A video display generator receives video control commands from the data processor and program schedule information and displays a portion of the program schedule information on the receiver. The program schedule information indicates the availability of a product or service for certain of the programs included in the program information, wherein the product or service is associated with the program, such as a program transcript or videocassette.

  • Patent number: 6769128
Abstract: An electronic program schedule system with access to both stored television program schedule information and data feeds containing status information for live programs such as sporting events. The system includes a data processor for receiving program schedule information for a plurality of programs and data feeds containing status information for certain of the programs, and a video display generator for generating a display signal simultaneously comprising information from both the stored schedule information and the received data feed. The system is further provided with user control means such as a remote controller for generating user control commands and transmitting signals to the data processor in response thereto so as to control the content of the display signal. The display signal may be displayed on a display apparatus such as a television receiver.

  • Publication number: 20040042001
Abstract: A compact and versatile multi-spot inspection imaging system employs an objective for focusing an array of radiation beams to a surface and a second reflective or refractive objective having a large numerical aperture for collecting scattered radiation from the array of illuminated spots. The scattered radiation from each illuminated spot is focused to a corresponding optical fiber channel so that information about a scattering may be conveyed to a corresponding detector in a remote detector array for processing. For patterned surface inspection, a cross-shaped filter is rotated along with the surface to reduce the effects of diffraction by Manhattan geometry. A spatial filter in the shape of an annular aperture may also be employed to reduce scattering from patterns such as arrays on the surface. In another embodiment, different portions of the same objective may be used for focusing the illumination beams onto the surface and for collecting the scattered radiation from the illuminated spots simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 6688295
Abstract: A pulley assembly for use in an archery bow includes an axle journal which defines a pivot axis about which a pulley body can rotate. The pulley body includes a first, a second and a third groove defined therein. Each groove defines a curve which extends at least partway around the pivot axis. The first groove is a bow string groove operative to receive a portion of a bow string. The second groove is operative to receive a portion of a first bow cable section and the third groove is operative to receive a portion of a second bow cable section. The pulley assembly is incorporated into a compound bow, and when the bow string is unwound from the first groove, a portion of the first bow cable section is wound into the second groove and a portion of a second bow cable section is wound into the third groove. Also disclosed are compound bow configurations incorporating the pulley assembly.

  • Patent number: 6663127
Abstract: A self-propelled exercise device such as a bicycle includes a frame having a drive wheel rotatably supported thereupon. The bicycle includes a first and a second foot link which are powered by the user. A coupler assembly directs the first end of each foot link in an arcuate path of travel, and a foot link guide directs the second end of each foot link in a reciprocating path of travel. A power transfer linkage is in mechanical communication with the coupler assembly and with the drive wheel. When the device is in use, a user's foot disposed upon the foot link travels in an elliptical path of travel and provides power to the foot link. This power is transferred to the drive wheel by the power transfer linkage so as to propel the bicycle.

  • Patent number: 6579427
Abstract: Multilayer high transmittance, low emissivity coatings on transparent substrates feature a special antireflective base film of at least two parts on the substrate-near side of a metallic, reflective film. A first of the two parts is in contact with the metallic film. This first film-part has crystalline properties for causing the metallic film to deposit in a low resistivity configuration. The second of the two film-parts supports the first part and is preferably amorphous. Coated articles of the invention also feature, in combination with the above-mentioned base film or independently thereof, a newly discovered, particularly advantageous subrange of thicker primer films for coated glass that can be thermally processed for tempering, heat strengthening, or bending.
