Patent number: 10825008Abstract: Methods and apparatus identify downhole equipment and correlate input data with the equipment to improve planning and/or inventory operations. For some embodiments, oilfield equipment or tubular goods such as drill pipe include a shaped recess along an outer circumference for receiving a tag cartridge by shrink fitting. Once tagged, detector system configurations at pipe yards may facilitate logging the presence and location of each drill pipe and correlating specific data, such as inspection data, to each drill pipe. Further, this correlation populates a database utilized to achieve other business functions such as forecasting number of additional drill pipe needed to purchase, invoicing customers according to actual tracked wear/use of the drill pipe being returned, and providing well or job specific drill string population using known history pipe joints.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2017Date of Patent: November 3, 2020Assignee: Weatherford Technology Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Paul Steven Griggs, Patrick M. Publication number: 20190261622Abstract: A method of attracting wildlife is provided using the oil of a cucurbit seed. The cucurbit commonly used is pumpkin but can include other cucurbits, such as watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumbers, and squash. The oil is extracted from the seeds and screened. The extracted oil is later dispensed or dispersed at a location where the presence is desired but located outside of the physical reach of wildlife. The oil can be applied to mask the scent of human presence or human activity. The oil draws in wildlife from neighboring areas that are not accessible to hunters or enthusiasts, such as swamps, thickets, or areas with heavy brush. The oil may be used on fishing lures or bait to attract marine wildlife.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 28, 2018Publication date: August 29, 2019Inventor: Larry William Eckler

Patent number: 8985255Abstract: A three wheel electric vehicle platform with two wheels in front and one wheel at the rear, a full safety roll cage, a propulsion and steering system operating through the two front wheels, and operator's and passenger's seats mounted in-line along the vehicle centerline. The propulsion system is an electric motor powered by an energy storage device driving a speed reduction and differential with dual outputs suitable for two wheel front drive. The operator's seat is narrower in parts than a conventional automotive seat such that the rear seat passenger's knees can comfortably straddle the operator seat to allow the distance between the two occupants to be less than a typical automobile. The driver's and passenger's heels comfortably fit into recessed wells within the energy storage device, thus allowing the driver's and passenger's center of gravity to be lower, while still maintaining a comfortable sitting position.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2011Date of Patent: March 24, 2015Assignee: Arcimoto, Inc.Inventors: Mark Douglas Frohnmayer, Thomas Hynes Mohler, Christopher George Angot, James K. Patent number: 8755941Abstract: A method and system for controlling a temperature of an exhaust gas being introduced to a catalyst is provided. Using an adjustable flow controller, an adjustable amount of tempering fluid is provided to the exhaust gas prior to the exhaust gas proceeding to the catalyst. A sensor senses a parameter indicative of a temperature of the exhaust gas being introduced to the catalyst. A computer processor uses a relationship to relate the parameter to an adjustment of the adjustable flow controller that will adjust the amount of tempering fluid provided to the exhaust gas and change the temperature of the exhaust gas being introduced to the catalyst toward a target temperature. Adjustment of the adjustable flow controller is initiated by the computer processor to change the flow of the tempering fluid, and the relationship between the parameter and the adjustment of the adjustable flow controller is updated.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2010Date of Patent: June 17, 2014Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Larry William Swanson, Douglas Frank Beadie, Neil Colin Widmer, Hua Zhang, Gilbert Otto Kraemer

Patent number: 8447725Abstract: A minimized journaling mechanism stores minimized journal data in a format that allows for display and outputting the journal data in human-readable form. When a change to a record occurs, instead of writing only the changed bytes, all of the bytes in each field that changed are written to the journal, along with all of the bytes in each field selected to be always journaled. A default object is created with default data in all of the fields. When the journal entry needs to be output in human-readable form, the default object is read, and the minimized journal entry is then overlaid on the default object. The result is an object that contains default data in all non-selected fields that were not changed, with the journal data in all fields and that did change and in all fields that were selected to always be journaled.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2011Date of Patent: May 21, 2013Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Adam Thomas Stallman, Larry William Youngren
