  • Publication number: 20170129467
Abstract: A cruise control arrangement for a vehicle is provided with a cruise control brake function that is set to a brake cruise speed. The cruise control arrangement is adapted to activate at least one auxiliary brake when the vehicle speed reaches the set brake cruise speed, and at the same time to apply a service brake of the vehicle to keep the speed of the vehicle at the set brake cruise speed, and is further adapted to decrease the brake power of the service brake at the same time as the brake power of the at least one auxiliary brake increases, such that the speed of the vehicle is kept at the set brake cruise speed. The speed of the vehicle can be held at the set cruise speed when an auxiliary brake is activated, regardless of the activation time of the auxiliary brake. In this way, an overshoot in speed can be avoided during the activation time of the auxiliary brake.

  • Publication number: 20160297446
Abstract: A method is provided to control an engine braking operation of a vehicle provided with a dual clutch transmission. The dual clutch transmission is adapted to be set into different gear-combinations, each including an active gear selection through which torque can be transmitted, and a passive gear selection through which no torque can be transmitted. In a pre-set number of gear-combinations, the first input shaft and the main shaft have a synchronised rotation. When an engine braking operation is performed when the transmission is set in one of the pre-set number of gear-combinations modifying said engine braking operation such that a damaging load upon said spigot bearing is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20160160943
Abstract: A method for automatic detection of need for clutch calibration includes registering and storing in a data memory, before or in connection with engine shut down, a value of a clutch operating parameter, registering a corresponding value of the clutch operating parameter in connection with subsequent engine start up, and determining need for clutch calibration if the difference between the stored value of the clutch operating parameter and the corresponding value of the clutch operating parameter exceeds a predetermined threshold value.

  • Patent number: 9332545
Abstract: A Method and System For Optimizing The Efficiency of SIGINT Collection Systems on Mobile Platforms with Limited Bandwidth Connections that is implementable in legacy signal collection systems. The resultant system first reduces potential upload bandwidth by eliminating whitespace in collected signals. Next, the system ignores collectable signals based on signals frequency or angle of arrival so as to identify energy of interest. Next, the system score and attributes a priority to each energy of interest, now known as signals of interest. The system then increases collection bandwidth on all signals of interest based on the score, priority and availability of resources. Finally, in real time, and based on SOI score and priority and the availability of downlink resources, the collected signal data is downlinked to the SIGINTcontrol center.

  • Publication number: 20150318612
Abstract: A Method and Apparatus for Wideband, Polarimetric Reception of High Frequency Radio Signals. Traditionally, high frequency (HF) antennas that employ magnetic loops are “tuned” to specific frequency and a single polarization. Modern processing equipment is capable of handling large bandwidths and requires sensitivity for all polarizations at all elevation angles. As a result of these needs, this invention provides an HF antenna that is both wideband and polarimetric. The antenna presented here is sensitive to both linear vertical and horizontal polarizations as well as to circular polarizations for high elevation angles. This makes it optimal as an element in a direction finding array. The antenna should be modular in construction so that it is easily deployed and packed for transport.

  • Patent number: 9161287
Abstract: A Technique for Efficient Message Delivery in Ad Hoc, Mesh, Wireless Computer Networks. The method and system of the present invention permits reliable wireless messaging between nodes on an ad hoc basis. The method is executed at each node in an iterative fashion, If a node is not the destination node for a particular message, that node will retransmit a received message. As the message is received and retransmitted from node to node, the message will propagate through the networked nodes until it reaches its destination node. In order to prevent the retransmission of messages into perpetuity, the method will limit the number of times that a particular node can retransmit a particular message. Once that retransmission limit is reached by a particular node for a particular message, the message retransmission will cease at that node, and the message will expire. The message will also expire after a pre-set time to live parameter has elapsed.

  • Patent number: 9157983
Abstract: This system and method provides a direction finding system that enables modern RF DF systems to analyze short duration signals in the entire instantaneous bandwidth. By providing a method to process wideband data, the invention drastically improves throughput and probability of intercept (POI). The invention is unique in that it does not require separate narrowband channels for analysis, and can simultaneously calculate azimuth and elevation estimates for every frequency in the bandwidth of an incident signal. It is also well-suited for fixed point, FPGA implementations making it a perfect match for modern state-of-the-art processing systems. The system and method capitalizes on the ability of Fourier Frequency Transform operations to accurately resolve incident wave phase at discrete frequencies. The system then uses the phase information from the individual elements in the array to arrive at an emitter azimuth angle.

  • Patent number: 8972010
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to implantable medical devices, such as pacemakers, and, in particular, to a method and an implantable medical device capable of detecting the presence of noise caused by external noise sources. Voltages and/or impedances are measured over one or several electrode configurations. Based on the measured voltages and/or impedances, noise parameters are calculated, which are compared with reference values to detect the presence of noise. In another aspect of the invention, at least two different electrode configurations with different noise pick-up areas are used in the measurement. Relations between the noise parameters of the at least two vectors are calculated and compared with reference relations to detect the presence of noise.

  • Patent number: 8401750
Abstract: Method and a device for automatic selection of a better starting gear in a vehicle, including the steps of engaging a first starting gear, on driver demand controlling propulsion torque as to attempt to achieve a first take off, if the first starting gear is too high interrupting the first take off and automatically braking the vehicle, engaging a second adapted starting gear which is a lower gear compared to the first starting gear, controlling propulsion torque as to attempt to achieve a second vehicle take off, and if the second vehicle take off attempt results in a transmitting of torque to driven wheels of the vehicle being enough as to perform a take off then stop braking the vehicle. An incorrectly selected starting gear can thus be automatically changed. The starting gear change can be performed in an uphill situation.

  • Patent number: 8228379
Abstract: In a night vision arrangement for a motor vehicle in which a camera captures an infra-red image of the roadway in front of the vehicle, a video signal generated by the camera is processed by a signal processor so that the field of view of the image displayed by a display unit is selected in accordance with a control signal. The control signal is generated by a signal generator which is responsive to one or more parameters of the movement of the vehicle. The width of the field of view may be decreased with increasing speed. The axial direction of the field of view may be adjusted depending upon the nature of a turning movement of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20120137843
Abstract: A knife holder (402) for a tube cutting unit is adapted to receiving a rotating tube fed out from a tube manufacturing device in a feed direction (316). The feed direction is parallel with the tube's longitudinal direction and the rotation takes place about an axis in the tube's longitudinal direction. The knife holder is adapted to following the rotating tube in the latter's longitudinal direction and to bringing a knife element into contact with the tube in a cutting direction and thereby creating in the rotating tube a cut at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the tube. The knife holder is further provided with at least a first bearing element (414) and a second bearing element (415) configured to engage in respective brackets (416, 417) in the tube cutting unit.
