  • Publication number: 20070296313
Abstract: A self-generating system for an exercise apparatus including a flywheel having a flange with a plurality of permanent magnets fixed on the circumference of thereof. At least one set of induction coils opposing to the permanent magnets is supported on the a mounting foot such that the induction coils surround the permanent magnets with a proper gap between them. Accordingly, an induction takes place between the permanent magnets and the induction coils after the flywheel is brought into rotation. Meanwhile, the inducted electric energy may be transmitted by a power cord to necessary electronic devices (like a motor and an electric console) on the exercise apparatus, thereby achieving the self-generating effect.

  • Patent number: 7300387
Abstract: A treadle assembly of an exercise equipment including a mounting seat, a treadle, a bearing bracket. The mounting seat includes a supporting groove in the middle thereof and two indentations in the middle of both sides thereof. The treadle includes a rigid cylinder at the bottom thereof. The inside of the rigid cylinder is filled with soft filling material. A screw bolt is fitted in the middle of the soft filling material for securing the mounting seat to the treadle by fixing the screw bolt in the indentations of the mounting seat in collaboration with screwing elements. The bearing bracket is attached to a bottom side of the supporting groove of the mounting seat. Meanwhile, a bearing is disposed at each of four corners for a full contact with the periphery of the rigid cylinder. Thus, a plurality of connecting holes is formed at both sides of the mounting seat for securing the mounting seat to a treadle plank of an exercise equipment.

  • Publication number: 20070238580
Abstract: A pace-adjusting mechanism of an elliptical cross trainer having a U-shaped coupling rod pivotally and laterally disposed on a bottom support frame. An electric adjusting mechanism is interposed between the U-shaped coupling rod and the frame unit. The electric adjusting mechanism includes a motor, a guide spindle sleeve and a telescopic spindle. When the telescopic spindle is driven to be moved, it results in the adjustment of the relative angle of the U-shaped coupling rod, and wherein an L-shaped connecting rod is pivotally coupled to each top side of the U-shaped coupling rod while the end of the L-shaped connecting rod is pivotally attached to a treadle plank so that the vertical position of the treadle planks is adjustable by changing the angle of the U-shaped coupling rod and, therefore, the adjustment of the exercise pace is achieved.

  • Patent number: 7267638
Abstract: A pace-adjusting mechanism of an elliptical cross trainer having an electric adjusting mechanism installed at the bottom of a front side of the frame unit. The electric adjusting mechanism includes a motor, a guide spindle sleeve, a telescopic spindle, a slide bar, a U-frame and two connecting rods. Both connecting rods are pivotally coupled to the front end of the treadle plank. The U-frame is pivotally mounted on the frame unit. When the guide spindle sleeve is driven by the motor to create a reciprocating in-place displacement of the telescopic spindle, it results in a change of the connecting angle between the slide bar and the U-frame. In this way, the U-frame changes its supporting angle. Then, the vertical position of the treadle plank and the treadle thereon can be adjusted by the coupling relationship of the connecting rods. Accordingly, the change of the exercise pace can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 7267636
Abstract: The invention relates to a structure of rocker arms with optical sensing control for an exercise apparatus. The rocker arm of an exercise apparatus includes a handgrip. At least an optical sensor in accordance with the invention is positioned within a finger groove of the handgrip. The finger groove is so constructed that its form corresponds to the finger pad of the finger of an operator. Meanwhile, the finger groove is provided with an aperture in which the optical sensing element is hidden. The optical sensing element is connected to a console of the exercise apparatus through a conducting wire for setting different functions (exercise speed, slope or resistance) by means of effective detection signals. Therefore, the exercise apparatus is operable by means that a finger of both hands is slightly moved at fixed point during the exercise session.

  • Patent number: 7252624
Abstract: A regulating apparatus for a hydraulic cylinder of a treadmill having a rotating knob with an opening formed at a top end thereof and with a neck formed at a bottom end thereof. The periphery of the neck is marked with a plurality of numbers or with colors from light to dark. An annular base includes a ring-shaped gap for dividing it into an internal and external side. The external side has a viewing window extending to the ring-shaped gap. A magnifying glass is received within the viewing window. Moreover, the internal side of the annular base is fixed atop the hydraulic cylinder. In addition, the rotating knob is fixed on the annular base in such a manner that an adjusting post projects from the opening of the regulating knob and the neck is inserted into the ring-shaped gap. Therefore, the number or the color disposed on the neck is visible from the viewing window when the cushioning force of the hydraulic cylinder is adjusted.

  • Publication number: 20070172312
Abstract: A coupling for joining connection tubes of an exercise apparatus, comprising a top and a bottom coupling member for the connection tubes. The top and bottom coupling members are arranged in pairs and correspond in the form to the lower connection tube. The internal diameter of the tube defined by the top and bottom coupling members is substantially greater than the external diameter of the lower connection tube. In this way, the connection tubes can be firmly attached to each other in a vertical or a horizontal position at contact surfaces between the top and bottom coupling members by use of fixing elements so that an excellent interlocking strength between the connection tubes can be ensured.

  • Patent number: 7229386
Abstract: An oval-tracked exercise apparatus is provided which includes a main frame having a pair of connecting arms in a hinge joint with a traverse support. The traverse support is coupled with a mechanical system in a pivotal connection with a pair of planks. A resisting rotating mechanism is attached to an opposing end of the respective plank. Besides, an adjusting assembly is provided for adjusting the height of the traverse support. The resisting rotating mechanism formed by a flywheel, a belt wheel or a resistance mechanism includes a continually bent crank and is rotatably mounted on side walls of a base of the resisting rotating mechanism. Accordingly, both handles are synchronically movable with respective planks for simulating a climbing action and an oval exercise track. Moreover, a simulation of a movement on uphill, downhill and flat surfaces can be achieved. Furthermore, a reduction of the distance between both planks is also attainable.
