  • Publication number: 20230103284
Abstract: An immersive digital experience for video conferencing simulates common presence of a virtual participant in a local environment. Such simulation may include (i) using a transparent media display having a portion of its pixels projecting the virtual participant's body image while keeping at least a portion of the background transparent (e.g., to visible light), (ii) disposing sensor(s) (e.g., camera) behind the transparent media display at the gaze of the participant, and/or (iii) using added virtual overlays (e.g., of plants, memorabilia, and/or furniture) to the virtual image (e.g., that are consistent with the local environment), e.g., to provide a sense of depth ranging from the overlays to the virtual participant projection and to the background showing through the transparent media display.

  • Patent number: 11578716
Abstract: A tubing assembly is provided that can comprise a plurality of tubes or lumens that can be disposed within a head of a peristaltic pump. The tubing assembly can provide a flow rate or volume capacity that is generally equal to or greater than that achieved with a comparable prior art tube while operating at higher pressures than that possible using the prior art tube. Further, in accordance with some embodiments, the tubing assembly can achieve a longer working life than a comparable prior art tube, and the load on the pump motor can be reduced such that the pump life is increased and/or a larger pump motor is not required to achieve such advantageous results.

  • Patent number: 11568047
Abstract: Techniques for determining and displaying error messages including a cause of an error generated because two types are not members of the same nest are disclosed. The system detects, at runtime, an instruction in a first type that attempts to access a private member of a second type. The system evaluates one or more nestmate criteria to determine whether the first type and the second type are within a same nest. A nest host corresponding to the nest specifies each nest member of the nest, and each nest member specifies an association with the nest. Responsive to determining that a particular nestmate criterion is not met, the system determines that the first type and the second type are not within the same nest and records or displays data identifying the particular nestmate criterion that has not been met, and throws an access error.

  • Patent number: 11555284
Abstract: An articulated concrete block system that includes a gabion mattress drainage layer. The two major components of the system reduce the effects of erosion and increase the hydraulic stability in areas that experience high velocity water flows, hydraulic jumps, and will dissipate wave energy action for shoreline and coastal erosion. Geosynthetics are first placed on the ground surface, followed by a gabion mattress drainage layer, a smaller aggregate layer for fine grading, another optional geosynthetic layer, and then the articulated concrete blocks overlie the system.

  • Patent number: 11544451
Abstract: A method for maintaining links and revisions for a plurality of documents is described. The method is carried out by one or more computing devices. Requests that indicate revisions to be carried out on the plurality of documents are received, at least one of the requests corresponding to revisions for different documents of the plurality of documents. For each request: a workspace revision counter that is shared by the plurality of documents is incremented, the workspace revision counter indicating a revision state of the plurality of documents, the revision is queued in a workspace revision queue that is shared by the plurality of documents, and the revision indicated by the request is caused to be performed on one or more documents of the plurality of documents that correspond to the request.

  • Publication number: 20220409225
Abstract: Disclosed embodiments include apparatuses for and methods of separating tissue with opposing jaw members having distal ends that translate toward a surface of the tissue as the jaw members are rotated outwardly to maintain engagement with the tissue. In an illustrative embodiment, an apparatus includes jaw members rotatably coupled adjacent to their proximal ends. The jaw members define opposing outwardly-facing curved channels disposed between their proximal and distal ends that slidably engage a distal pin. A bracket defines a distal socket that receives the distal pin. As the jaw members are motivated in a distal direction relative to the bracket toward the distal pin, engagement of the distal pin with the outwardly-facing curved channels causes the jaw members to rotate to cause the distal ends of the jaw members move outwardly transversely to the distal direction while the distal ends translate in the distal direction.

  • Patent number: 11485653
Abstract: Described is a method for treating water with sodium hydroxide. The method can increase the accuracy of the volume of a stock sodium hydroxide solution that is delivered to the water being treated. The method can include pumping a concentrated aqueous sodium hydroxide stock solution with a diaphragm pumping system that has a two-part diaphragm assembly with a polymeric diaphragm overmolded onto a rigid insert. The polymeric diaphragm can be made of a fully-vulcanized ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber that is injection molded over the rigid insert.

  • Publication number: 20220299193
Abstract: A luminaire with a tool-less assembly feature that enhances ease of installation and serviceability in the field. The luminaire's housing defines a compartment accessible via a window adjacent a pair of opposed shoulders. The luminaire further includes a lighting module dimensioned to be received and retained in the window in an interference fit with the shoulders. The lighting module may include an LED module/light guide plate and/or an LED refractor assembly/LED gear tray. A resilient member is supported on the housing in position to abut the lighting module and deflect during insertion of the lighting module through the window, and to at least partially resile to maintain the lighting module against the shoulders in an operative position on the housing. Further, the resilient member is positioned to deflect during removal and to resile to tilt or otherwise assist in ejecting the lighting module from the housing during tool-less disassembly.

  • Publication number: 20220300263
Abstract: A data structure (e.g., field, method parameter, or method return value) is defined by a descriptor to be of a particular type, which imposes a first set of restrictions on values assumable by the data structure. Separately, the data structure is associated with a type restriction that defines a second set of restrictions that further restricts the values assumable by the data structure. The descriptor and type restriction are encoded separately in a program binary. Responsive to identifying a value for the data structure that (a) is not forbidden by the first set of restrictions defined the descriptor and (b) is forbidden by the second set of restrictions defined by the type restriction, a runtime environment may perform a restrictive operation, such as: blocking storage of the value to a field; blocking passing of the value to a method parameter; or blocking return of the value from a method.
