  • Publication number: 20160318591
Abstract: A method provides power to a subsea equipment electrical system underwater, without a wet-mated electrical connection. The method includes temporarily coupling a rotary coupling element of a power source to the subsea equipment and turning that element to generate electric power on board the equipment. Subsea equipment that implements the method comprises: an on-board electric power generator connected to an electrical load such as a rechargeable battery to charge the battery when the generator is driven; and a rotary coupling element that is turned by an external drive to drive the generator. Alternative subsea equipment to implement the method comprises: a stator, but not a rotor, of an on-board electric power generator, which supplies current to the load when an externally-driven rotor is positioned adjacent to the stator and turned relative to the stator. A power source having a generator rotor is docked with the equipment for this purpose.

  • Patent number: 9442628
Abstract: A method can include displaying a user interface on a display of a mobile device. The user interface can include a scrollable payroll data section with multiple selectable fields and a data entry section configured to accept input of payroll data for the multiple fields. The method can further include simultaneously displaying the scrollable payroll data section and the data entry section and, in response to an input, simultaneously scrolling through one or more of the multiple selectable fields of the payroll data section while maintaining the payroll data section in place. A device and computer-readable medium can be configured to implement the method and variations thereof.

  • Patent number: 9387911
Abstract: A subsea payload such as an AUV (autonomous underwater vehicle) or an AUV garage is lifted from an underwater location by flying a latch unit through the water to the payload. The latch unit carries a lift line toward the payload. The latch unit is then attached to the payload and the payload is lifted using tension applied through the lift line via the latch unit. The latch unit can also be used on a lift line to lower a payload and then to release the payload at an underwater location. The lift line is supported by a heave-compensating winch on a surface vessel that effects z-axis movement of the latch unit. The winch maintains tension on the lift line to prevent the lift line falling on the payload. Movement of the latch unit on x- and y-axes is effected by on-board thrusters.

  • Publication number: 20160152463
Abstract: A shippable liquid storage and dispensing apparatus includes a collapsible liner arranged within a container, with a dispense head coupled to the container, suitable for handling oxygen- and moisture-sensitive materials. The dispense head includes a pressurization gas passage, a pressurization gas valve, a liquid passage, a liquid valve, a liner gas passage, and a liner gas valve, wherein each valve may have an associated quick connect fitting. The dispense head remains attached to the container during inert gas purging, liner filling, container shipment, and liquid dispensing. Pressurized inert gas may be maintained in the liner overlying liquid-containing material during shipment of the coupled dispense head and container. The container may have an extended chime to provide a protective zone that contains the entirety of the dispense head.

  • Publication number: 20160045042
Abstract: A secure, single-pivot hanger for picture frames or like objects. The invention includes a top-center alignment slot so it can quickly and accurately be placed directly over the object's, previously measured and marked, top midpoint. Adhesive on the hanger's back is used to hold the hanger in position on the object before being nailed in place. Two pre-located holes assure that fastener nails will be self-stabilized in an upright starting position and guided in a straight line as they are driven into the back of the object. Once attached, the hanger's catch lip and relief space will allow it to securely rest on a screw, anchor nail, or the like between the back of the hanging object and the vertical surface it is being suspended from. The hanger can easily and safely rotate around its single pivot point to adjust for final leveling.
