  • Patent number: 6712659
Abstract: A method for controlling gap widths of a cell gap of an LCD panel and a relevant apparatus are provided. When a front substrate and a rear substrate of an LCD panel are being pressed to combine together before a sealant between hardens, gap widths at several measured points located on the front or rear substrate are monitored to provide a reference for modifying a parameter distribution, thereby fine-tuning the gap widths. Therefore, gap widths, equivalent to the uniformity of the cell gap, can meet the manufacturer's requirement, and LCD panel yields are increased.

  • Publication number: 20040041745
Abstract: A method of frame processing which includes the following steps: 1) an input frame is input into the frame processing device, 2) according to the input frame and the previous input frame, the frame processing device selects a multiple number of output frames, and 3) the output frames are output by the frame processing device at a refresh rate greater than the first refresh rate. When the voltage value of the input frame is greater than the previous frame's voltage value, the voltage value of the output frame is greater than that of the input frame. When the voltage value of the input frame is less than the previous one's, the voltage value of the output frame is less than that of the input frame.

  • Publication number: 20040027322
Abstract: A method and apparatus for gray level dynamic switching. The method is applied to driving a display with at least one pixel. In the method of the present invention, a gray level sequence SG is provided. SG sequentially represents two or more desired gray levels GO(1), . . . , GO(T) of the pixel at consecutive time frames 1, . . . , T and comprises a-current gray level Go(t) and a previous gray level GO(t−1) corresponding to time frames t and t−1, respectively. Then, the pixel is driven with an optimized driving force Vd(t) to change the forward pixel to a state corresponding to Go(t)according to Go(t) and GO(t−1) In the present invention, the optimized driving voltage Vd(t) is determined by equations of Vd(t)=Vo(t−1)+ODV and Vd(t)=a×Gd(m)3+b×Gd(m)2+C×Gd(m)+d wherein the voltage ODV is a minimum voltage capable of obtaining one gray level transition in a determined response time.

  • Publication number: 20030184570
Abstract: A driving device for driving pixels of a display from a first gray level to a second gray level. The first memory stores a first voltage data making the pixel display the first gray level. The second memory stores a driving voltage table recording dynamic driving voltages corresponding to predetermined gray level switching, respectively. The controller uses the dynamic driving voltage to drive the pixel. The dynamic driving voltage is selected from the driving voltage table according to the first voltage data of the first memory and a second voltage data provided by an outside circuit and determining the second gray level that the pixel will display.

  • Publication number: 20030091112
Abstract: A display method is provided for stabilizing MPEG video output via an LCD device. The MPEG video has a plurality of intra-frames (I-frames) for providing full picture image data, a plurality of predict-frames (P-frames) for providing both motion vectors and partial picture image data, and a plurality of bi-directional predict-frames (B-frames) for providing only motion vectors. When an MPEG decoder decodes the P-frames and the B-frames for retrieving motion vectors, an up converter operates simultaneously for interpolating at least one frame between two consecutive frames using the motion vectors so as to increase a frame rate of the picture images.
