    Abstract: A magnetic material used in the magnetic SF-based composite aerogel is a ferroferric oxide nanocubic particle, which is a magnetic nanomaterial with both excellent magnetocaloric performance and excellent photothermal performance. The magnetic SF-based composite aerogel prepared by the present disclosure exhibits excellent responsiveness to both alternating current (AC) magnetic fields and sunlight. Under an action of an AC magnetic field, the magnetic SF-based composite aerogel exhibits excellent temperature rise performance, which can inhibit the generation of biofouling in pores and channels inside a three-dimensional (3D) porous evaporation material. The magnetic SF-based composite aerogel exhibits excellent water evaporation performance under a sunlight irradiation, with a water evaporation rate of 2.03 kg m?2·h?1.

    Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and systems for transducing measurements from medium of interest. One non-limiting example is in planta monitoring of plants. In one aspect, a micro- or nano-scale probe body includes one or more microprobes (e.g. microneedles or waveguides) to access desired plant tissue, and one or more microsensors on the probe body. A microcircuit on or in the probe body transduces relevant measurements from the microsensor(s). An output interface allows storage, communication, or transfer of the transduced measurement for further use. Non-limiting examples are processing into estimations of chemical concentrations or the like for biochemical sensing. As such, if used as in planta sensors, they can be minimally invasive and cost effective for both single use and use in sets for plural plants with one central station.

    Abstract: Provided is an industrial process soft sensor method based on a federated stochastic configuration network, including: acquiring historical industrial process auxiliary data and corresponding product quality data; finding out optimal hidden layer parameters; processing, by a central server, to obtain global parameters, and downloading same to each factory as hidden layer parameters for a local model; obtaining output weights of a current network through an optimization algorithm, and uploading same to the server for weighted aggregation; and when the number of hidden layer nodes in a current network exceeds a maximum given value or a residual in current iteration meets an expected tolerance, completing modeling to obtain the global federated stochastic configuration network without adding new nodes. The present disclosure effectively improves prediction performance of models and protects data privacy, thus meeting industrial process soft sensor requirements.

    Abstract: A process for optimizing the design of a semi-open centrifugal pump impeller involves the steps of, reducing the number of long blades and adding a medium length splitter blade and a short length splitter blade having varying circumferential distances between any two optimized long blades. Each medium length and short length splitter blade have the same outlet position, profile and thickness as the optimized long blade; however, the medium length and short length splitter blades have different inlet positions relative to the optimized long blade. The long blade, medium length splitter blade and short length splitter blade are arranged in circumferential sequence along the direction of rotation of the impeller. This optimization improves various problems arising from the original semi-open centrifugal pumps, including low efficiency, significant loss at the inlet, inlet cavitation, separation of boundary layers at the blade inlets, narrow lift range of the dead point and excessive noise.

    Abstract: We present a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) graphene-based pressure sensor realized by transferring a large area, few-layered graphene on a suspended silicon nitride thin membrane perforated by a periodic array of micro-through-holes. Each through-hole is covered by a circular drum-like graphene layer, namely a graphene “microdrum”. The uniqueness of the sensor design is the fact that introducing the through-hole arrays into the supporting nitride membrane allows generating an increased strain in the graphene membrane over the through-hole array by local deformations of the holes under an applied differential pressure. Further reasons contributing to the increased strain in the devised sensitive membrane include larger deflection of the membrane than that of its imperforated counterpart membrane, and direct bulging of the graphene microdrum under an applied pressure. Electromechanical measurements show a gauge factor of 4.4 for the graphene membrane and a sensitivity of 2.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the field of mineral processing and separation, and in particular, to an underground coal hypergravity field separation system and a separation process. The separation system includes a grading hydrocyclone group, hypergravity field separators, feeding pumps, and conveying pumps. Coal collected underground is graded through a grading hydrocyclone first, then is fed into the hypergravity field separators for separation, and finally, is conveyed to a next link for dehydration through the conveying pumps. The separation system of the present disclosure has less supporting equipment, small floor area, and no complex pipeline, and is suitable for a downhole operation. In addition, the hypergravity field separators can provide a high-strength centrifugal acceleration, which can realize rapid separation of coal gangue particles in a radial direction and a tangential direction, and realize effective separation of fine coal gangue particles.
