The system in one aspect uses sound-based distance measurement techniques to measure groundwater level with one transducer generating an acoustic burst and another receiving it. At least one sonic transducer is installed in each of a processor-based controller and traveling probe. The system may use an accelerometer and the pressure sensor installed in the probe to measure groundwater thickness. While the probe moves upward or downward in the groundwater, water properties measured by sensors installed on the probe and corresponding depths of the measuring spots to the groundwater surface level measured by the pressure sensor are recorded. The system measures and saves data, including groundwater level, groundwater thickness, and a depth-related profile of water properties.

The statistics gathered through activity tracking can be supplied to data classification techniques to automatically classify the database elements or to assist users with manually classifying the database elements. Then, once the database elements have been classified, in-database archiving techniques can be employed to move database elements to different storage tiers based on the classifications. However, although the techniques related to activity tracking, data classification, and in-database archiving may be used together as described above; each technique may also be practiced separately.

    Abstract: A computer system can perform a semi-supervised machine learning processes to cluster a plurality of entities within a population based on their features and associated labels. The computer system can generate visualization data representing the clusters of entities and associated labels for displaying on a user interface. A user can review the clustering of entities and use the user interface to add or modify the labels associated with a particular entity or set of entities. The computer system can use the user's feedback to update the labels and then re-determine the clustering of entities using the semi-supervised machine learning process with the updated labels as input. As such, the computer system can use the user's feedback to improve the accuracy of the machine learning model without requiring a larger amount of labeled input data.
