  • Publication number: 20110018737
Abstract: A vehicle collision avoidance system is implemented in a host vehicle. A wireless communication module in the host vehicles wirelessly broadcasts vehicle information packages of the host vehicle and receives external vehicle information packages from other neighboring vehicles. Based on the received vehicle information packages, a collision avoidance process is performed. The process has steps of mapping coordinates system, categorizing collision zones, determining whether a possible collision position exists, calculating a collision time and outputting warning messages. The estimations of the possible collision position and the collision time are not affected by the positions of the neighboring vehicles. Therefore, the neighboring vehicles approaching the host vehicle from different direction are effectively monitored.

  • Publication number: 20110009784
Abstract: A compression device for medical treatment includes an upper colloid sheet, a lower colloid sheet, and a plurality of gas ports. The upper colloid sheet is stacked with the lower colloid sheet and welded, so as to form a plurality of isolated cells with welded walls, and each cell respectively corresponds to one of the gas ports. Therein, the welded walls that neighbors each cell extend diagonally along an angle that is between an x-axis direction and an y-axis direction, so that the welded walls extends from an edge of the upper colloid sheet and the lower colloid sheet to another edge of the upper colloid sheet and the lower colloid sheet. Per aforementioned, the compression device for medical treatment has diagonally formed cells, which results in compression from two directions, so that the medical benefits are increased.

  • Publication number: 20100258784
Abstract: A cavity free, broadband approach for engineering photon emitter interactions via sub-wavelength confinement of optical fields near metallic nanostructures. When a single CdSe quantum dot (QD) is optically excited in close proximity to a silver nanowire (NW), emission from the QD couples directly to guided surface plasmons in the NW, causing the wire's ends to light up. Nonclassical photon correlations between the emission from the QD and the ends of the NW demonstrate that the latter stems from the generation of single, quantized plasmons. Results from a large number of devices show that the efficient coupling is accompanied by more than 2.5-fold enhancement of the QD spontaneous emission, in a good agreement with theoretical predictions.
