  • Publication number: 20050146764
Abstract: A laser scanning unit mainly includes a semiconductor laser, a collimator, a micro electronic mechanic system (MEMS) oscillatory mirror, and an f? lens or an fsin ? lens. The MEMS oscillatory mirror is disposed between the collimator and the f? lens to replace a conventional rotary polygonal mirror for controlling a direction in which laser beams are projected from the oscillatory mirror to the f? lens. With the MEMS oscillatory mirror, the cylindrical lens may be omitted from the laser scanning unit and noises produced by the polygonal mirror rotating at high speed may be avoided. Moreover, the MEMS oscillatory mirror allows bi-directional scanning to therefore enable increased scanning frequency, simplified structure, and improved scanning efficiency.

  • Patent number: 6723649
Abstract: A method of fabricating a semiconductor memory device, particularly a mask ROM. A sacrificial oxide layer is formed on a silicon substrate and then a photoresist layer is formed on the sacrificial oxide layer. The photoresist layer is patterned to form a plurality of openings where bit lines are to extend respectively. Taking the patterned photoresist layer as a mask, arsenic ions are implanted into the silicon substrate through the openings and then boron ions are implanted into the silicon substrate through the openings. The implantation depth of boron ions are deeper than arsenic ions. The photoresist layer and the sacrificial oxide layer are removed after implantation. A gate oxide and a field oxide are grown simultaneously on the non-implanted and the implanted regions of the semiconductor layers respectively and a gate conductive layer is deposited on the silicon substrate.

  • Publication number: 20040052475
Abstract: A fiber collimator includes a holder having a spacer provided therein, an aspherical lens, and a fiber pigtail. The spacer has a design thickness taking a machining tolerance thereof into consideration to be equal to or larger than an effective focal length of the aspherical lens, with a difference thereof no more than 30 &mgr;m. The fiber pigtail and the aspherical lens are separately inserted into two ends of the holder to abut against and fix to two end surfaces of the spacer. Since the spacer has a thickness varies with changes in its machining tolerance, a focus-out distance &Dgr;d of the fiber tip always randomly falls in a fixed range, for example, from 30 &mgr;m≧&Dgr;d≧0, and the finished fiber collimator always has an optimal working distance within an enlarged range from 0 to 140 mm. A method for manufacturing the fiber collimator is also described.

  • Patent number: 6674130
Abstract: A new type of partially-depleted SOI MOSFET is described in which a tunneling connection between the gate and the base is introduced. This is achieved by using a gate dielectric whose thickness is below its tunneling threshold. The gate pedestal is made somewhat longer than normal and a region near one end is implanted to be P+ (or N+ in a PMOS device). This allows holes (electrons for PMOS) to tunnel from gate to base. Since the hole current is self limiting, applied voltages greater than 0.7 volts may be used without incurring excessive leakage (as is the case with prior art DTMOS devices). A process for manufacturing the device is also described.
