  • Publication number: 20040001209
Abstract: A method for controlling printer color is provided. The method includes receiving cartridge color density data, such as from analysis of a test patch printed by the cartridge, and reference cartridge data, such as from analysis of a test patch printed and measured in accordance with a color standard. The color density data of the cartridge test patch is then mapped to the color density data of the reference cartridge test patch to generate mapped color density data, such as a look-up table that provides a dot activation for the cartridge that generates the same color density for a known dot activation for the reference cartridge. The mapped color density data is then used to control color density for printing a set of image data.

  • Publication number: 20040001210
Abstract: A system for characterizing color is provided. The system includes a color patch identification system that receives image data, such as image data of a color wedge, and generates color patch data, such as for two or more patches that make up the color wedge. A color patch characterization system receives the color patch data and generates color density data, such as by calculating the average color density of each color patch.

  • Publication number: 20030225060
Abstract: Certain novel 4-substituted N-acylated piperidine derivatives are agonists of the human melanocortin receptor(s) and, in particular, are selective agonists of the human melanocortin-4 receptor (MC-4R). They are therefore useful for the treatment, control, or prevention of diseases and disorders responsive to the activation of MC-4R, such as obesity, diabetes, sexual dysfunction, including erectile dysfunction and female sexual dysfunction.

  • Publication number: 20030141278
Abstract: A method of fabricating a semiconductor memory device, particularly a mask ROM. A sacrificial oxide layer is formed on a silicon substrate and then a photoresist layer is formed on the sacrificial oxide layer. The photoresist layer is patterned to form a plurality of openings where bit lines are to extend respectively. Taking the patterned photoresist layer as a mask, arsenic ions are implanted into the silicon substrate through the openings and then boron ions are implanted into the silicon substrate through the openings. The implantation depth of boron ions are deeper than arsenic ions. The photoresist layer and the sacrificial oxide layer are removed after implantation. A gate oxide and a field oxide are grown simultaneously on the non-implanted and the implanted regions of the semiconductor layers respectively and a gate conductive layer is deposited on the silicon substrate.

  • Publication number: 20030122214
Abstract: A new type of partially-depleted SOI MOSFET is described in which a tunneling connection between the gate and the base is introduced. This is achieved by using a gate dielectric whose thickness is below its tunneling threshold. The gate pedestal is made somewhat longer than normal and a region near one end is implanted to be P+ (or N+ in a PMOS device). This allows holes (electrons for PMOS) to tunnel from gate to base. Since the hole current is self limiting, applied voltages greater than 0.7 volts may be used without incurring excessive leakage (as is the case with prior art DTMOS devices). A process for manufacturing the device is also described.

  • Publication number: 20020196972
Abstract: A color correction technique involves sensing an illuminant and performing color correction based on the sensed illuminant. A color output device outputs an image with the color correction based on the sensed illuminant. The illuminant may be sensed in the lighting environment where the color output device is located or may be sensed in the lighting environment where the image is captured by a color digital camera. If an illuminant is sensed in a lighting environment where the image is captured and spectral reflectance data for an object corresponding to the image is detected, then the illuminant information and spectral reflectance data are embedded in the image which is transmitted over the Internet to a user computer system. Color correction software of the user computer system extracts the illuminant information and the spectral reflectance data and performs color correction for the image based on the extracted information.

  • Publication number: 20020149785
Abstract: A technique of automatic printer color correction includes accessing characterization data of the color ink cartridge and rendering consistent color for the color ink jet printer based on the characterization data. The characterization data can be stored on a website and accessed over the Internet by providing an identifier of the color ink cartridge. The identifier can, for example, be the serial number of the color ink cartridge. The characterization data—density data, for example—can be added to a printer profile for the color ink jet printer.

  • Publication number: 20020110285
Abstract: A method and system for managing a digital image using online driving from a network are disclosed. A digital image is formed by a capturing device and then is stored in a first memory of the capturing device. Afterwards, a program media automatically diagnoses the capturing device and then installs a driver corresponding to the capturing device for online driving of the capturing device. The digital image in the first memory is uploaded to a second memory of the image server, and therefore the capacity of the first memory is completely released. Thereafter, the digital image is properly edited and is stored in the second memory to manage and distribute with respect to the digital image. Finally, a remote PC is linked to the image server via the Internet for selectively downloading the digital image saved in the secondary memory.

  • Patent number: 6318260
Abstract: A method is disclosed for determining ink key control settings for a plurality of ink keys in a printing press. Each of the ink keys controls the amount of ink supplied to a roller and then to a respective ink key zone on a substrate to print an image. A press model relates image requirements to ink key control settings. The press model includes a gain and a respective offset associated with each ink key. The offset represents the amount a value represented by the ink key control setting varies from the actual ink key opening. The drift in the respective offsets of the ink keys is tracked by comparing control settings predicted by the press model with final control settings after a press job has been satisfactorily completed.

  • Patent number: 5967049
Abstract: A method is disclosed for correction of the effects of ink back-flow and lateral flow in the inking system of a web-offset printing press. A plate coverage equation dependent on plate coverage is used to compensate for ink back-flow into the ink reservoir. An ink key distribution function is utilized to correct for the blurring effects of lateral ink spread caused by the action of vibrator rollers. A correction is also made for the ink saturation effect. The method is applicable to an ink key preset system.
