    Abstract: An audio device includes an internal sound producer, an earphone jack, a detection circuit, a volume adjustor, and an amplifier. The detection circuit detects a connection between the earphone jack and an external sound producer, generates a first state signal when the connection is established, generates a second state signal when no connection is established. The volume adjustor is preset with first predetermined volume levels and second predetermined volume levels, generates first adjustment signals based on the first predetermined volume levels in response to the first state signal, and generates a second adjustment signal based on the second predetermined volume levels in response to the second state signal. The amplifier amplifies audio signals and adjusts the volume of the amplified audio signals according to the adjustment signals, then sends the amplified audio signals to the internal sound producer and earphone jack.

    Abstract: An audio device includes a jack, a switch, an amplifier, an internal sound producer, and a determining circuit. The jack establishes a connection with an external sound producer. The switch is in an opened state when the connection is established, and in a closed state when the connection is open. The amplifier amplifies audio signals to amplified audio signals and sends the amplified audio signals to the switch. The determining circuit receives the amplified audio signals from the switch, and generates a high voltage to control the amplifier not to output the amplified audio signals to the internal sound producer when the switch is in the closed state, and generates a low voltage to control the amplifier to output the amplified audio signals to the internal sound producer. The determined circuit further filters out the amplified audio signals when the switch is in the opened state.

The fixing component has a through-hole and an opening connected to each other. The supporting component includes a supporting pin, a block, a plate and a protrusion. The supporting pin has a top end for supporting the optical sheets and a bottom end at which the block is disposed. The plate is disposed on the supporting pin. The protrusion is disposed on the plate and faces the bottom end. After the block goes through the through-hole and rotates an angle, the plate and the block respectively press against upper and lower surfaces of the fixing component for clamping the fixing component. The protrusion is engaged in the opening for positioning the supporting component, so that the supporting component is fixed onto the fixing component.

    Abstract: A torsion sensor using an optical waveguide in optical communication with a diffraction grating, preferably a tilted grating, and most preferably a tilted Bragg grating, which provides the optical waveguide and grating with a torsion-dependent collective optical transmission spectrum. Changes in the collective optical transmission spectrum of the waveguide and grating, induced by changes in the amount of torsion applied to the waveguide, may be detected by detecting a corresponding change in the intensity of optical radiation transmitted through the grating from a controlled optical source. The degree of change in the collective optical transmission spectrum is dependent upon the degree of torsion (twist) applied to the optical waveguide. Measuring the magnitude and/or sense (i.e. increase/decrease) in the intensity of optical radiation transmitted through the grating from an optical source enables torsion to be sensed.
