  • Publication number: 20110095731
Abstract: A power factor correction controller is utilized for a power factor correction circuit in a critical conduction mode of an electric power converter. The power factor correction controller generates a control voltage according to an output voltage outputted from the electric power converter, and utilizes a first threshold value to detect the control voltage. The power factor correction controller can control the power factor correction circuit to operate in different modes according to various levels of a load. Therefore, an objective according to the present invention for reducing electric power consumption of the electric power converter in a light load or a no-load mode and improving energy transmission efficiency can be attained.

  • Patent number: 7913531
Abstract: The invention provides a roll profile for work rolls for both shape control and free ruled rolling. Each of the work rolls has a tapered end. The curve of respective tapered end is a quartic curve represented by a formula y(x)=a0+a1x+a2x2+a3x3+a4x4, x?[0,Le], y(x)?[0,He]. It is possible to partially eliminate the asymmetric deformation due to the difference between abrasion of the upper and lower rolls. Further, closed type abrasion of conventional roll is changed into open type abrasion and box shaped abrasion of conventional roll is eliminated, which eliminating “cat ear” hole and fulfilling the requirements of free ruled rolling.

  • Publication number: 20110041424
Abstract: The present invention discloses a grouted tubular energy-dissipation unit comprising an inner tube and an outer tube. The inner tube is coaxially inserted into the outer tube defining a gap within a lapping portion of the tubes for receiving expansive cement grout. After solidified, the expansive cement grout forms an expansive ring. A prestress produced by the expansive cement grout increases the friction between the expansive ring and the tubes. In service, the present invention can transfer the axial force via the friction between the tubes and the expansive cement grout. In case of earthquake, the sliding friction between the tubes and the expansive cement grout can absorb energy. The present invention does not require high precise in manufacturing and constructing, saves steel and has low cost. It is only need to replace the grouted tubular energy-dissipation unit when the present invention is damaged in earthquake, which is very convenient.

  • Publication number: 20100223227
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method of statistical application in an OLTP environment to reduce the intensive computational load of invoking SQL statements for statistical calculations. The method introduces a time element into statistical records, and use the time element to determine the time status of previously computed statistical records. Upon receiving a query for a statistical record, the system first searches for an existing copy of the statistical record, and checks the time status of the statistical record if found. The system sends the statistical record to the inquirer if the record exists and is unexpired, and invokes an SQL statement to compute the statistical record only if the record does not exist or has expired. The statistical records may be placed in statistical table in a database and/or a cache of an application server. The disclosed strategy may also increase attack resistance of the system.

  • Publication number: 20090244095
Abstract: A wireless communications device has a processor coupled to a memory for reconstructing a map feature from discrete sets of map data that provide redundant labels for the map feature to thereby generate a reconstructed map feature having only a single instance of the label, wherein the memory stores a run-time label cache for caching the reconstructed map feature and the label associated with the reconstructed map feature for reuse in rendering a subsequent map that also includes the reconstructed map feature. As new map data is received for each subsequent map, for example when the map is panned, the reconstructed map feature is modified by trimming off portions of the map feature that have moved outside the area of interest and by stitching to the reconstructed map feature portions of the map feature that have moved into the area of interest.

  • Publication number: 20080163659
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a roll profile for work rolls for both shape control and free ruled rolling. Each of the work rolls has a tapered end. Providing starting point of the tapered end of the rolls being origin of coordinates, the curve of respective tapered end is a quartic curve represented by a formula y(x)=a0+a1x+a2x2+a3x3+a4x4, x?[0,Le], y(x)?[0,He]. Because the transition between the tapered end and the roll body is smooth, asymmetric deformation due to the difference between abrasion of the upper and lower rolls is eliminated, which reducing wedged shape of strip and reducing unstable rolling due to asymmetrical strip stresses caused by the axial shifting of the roll.

  • Patent number: 5694938
Abstract: Non-invasive near infrared optical medical imaging devices for both hematoma detection in the brain and early tumor detection in the breast is achieved using image reconstruction which allows a mapping of the position dependent contrast diffusive propagation constants, which are related to the optical absorption coefficient and scattering coefficient in the tissue, at near infrared wavelengths. Spatial resolutions in the range of 5 mm for adult brain sizes and breast sizes can be achieved. The image reconstruction utilizes WKB approximation on most probable diffusion paths which has as lowest order approximation the straight line-of-sight between the plurality of sources and the plurality of detectors. The WKB approximation yields a set of linear equations in which the contrast optical absorption coefficients are the unknowns and for which signals can be generated to produce a pixel map of the contrast optical resolution of the scanned tissue.
