  • Publication number: 20050141625
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program for detecting an echo signal including interpolating at least one fast Fourier transformed OFDM signal received in the time-domain, interpolating the at least one signal generated by the time-domain interpolation in the frequency-domain, using a time-domain varying bandwidth low pass filter (LPF), with bandwidth that varies in response to a bandwidth control signal, measuring at least one signal to power ratio between a scattered pilot signal of the at least one signal generated by the time-domain interpolation and another scattered pilot signal of the at least one signal generated by the frequency-domain interpolation, and comparing the signal to power ratio to a threshold value to determine a state of an echo signal, and providing the bandwidth control signal with the determined echo state information to adjust the bandwidth of the time-domain LPF, based on the bandwidth control signal.

  • Patent number: 6909047
Abstract: An optical disc drive enclosure (10) includes a first cover (20) and a second cover (30). The first cover has a bottom plate and two first side plates (22). A locating plate (24) extends inwardly from a front upper edge of each first side plate, and two protrusion plates (26) are formed on an upper edge of each first side plate. The second cover has a top plate (31) and two second side plates (32). A locating slot (34) is formed at a front end of each second side plate, and can engage with the corresponding locating plate. Two cutouts (36) are defined in each second side plate. During assembly, the locating slots engage with the locating plates, with the second cover at an angle to the first cover. The second cover is then rotated downwardly so that the cutouts engage with the protrusion plates and the second side plates are clipped between the first side plates and the protrusion plates. The first cover and the second cover can then be fixed together by a pair of screws (59).

  • Publication number: 20040250270
Abstract: An optical disc driver includes a tray (20) and a driver housing (30). A locating cylinder (328) is formed at a rear of the driver housing. A through slot (329) is defined vertically in the middle of the locating cylinder, and divides the locating cylinder into two parts. A locating slot (228) is defined at a rear end of the tray, and an opening (229) is defined between a rear edge of the tray and the locating slot. The width of the opening is wider than that of the locating slot, and the opening broadens as it nears the rear edge of the tray, allowing the locating cylinder to be easily received and guided into the locating slot. This arrangement allows the tray to be firmly positioned in the driver housing.

  • Publication number: 20030170855
Abstract: The present invention provides protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTP) in which the invariant aspartate residue and the invariant glutamine residue are each replaced with a replacement amino acid residue, wherein the replacement residues together cause a reduction in catalytic rate (kcat) of the enzyme and an increase in substrate-binding affinity (Kd) of the enzyme. The present invention further provides methods for identifying a substrate of a PTP. Also provided are kits for identifying a substrate of a PTP. Additionally, the present invention provides methods for identifying an agent that alters interaction between a PTP and a substrate of the PTP. The invention also provides methods for reducing the activity of a substrate of a PTP.
