  • Patent number: 11165544
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for control signaling in next generation wireless local area network (WLAN) environments. A message transmitted by an access point may allocate resources to a plurality of stations. The access point may be configured to allocate up to 320 MHz of total bandwidth along with coarse punctures. The access point may also allocate up to eight space-time streams to each station in a multi-user multiple-input multiple output (MU-MIMO) transmission, and support simultaneous transmission to up to sixteen stations. To support 320 MHz bandwidth and up to sixteen stations, one or more signaling fields used in other environments may be repurposed to effectively signal the additional resources available in a next generation WLAN.

  • Publication number: 20210337595
Abstract: Some aspects of this disclosure include apparatuses and methods for implementing request to send (RTS) and clear to transmit (CTS) frames and transmission rules for the RTS and CTS frame. For example, some aspects relate to an electronic device including a transceiver and one or more processors communicatively coupled to the transceiver. • Patent number: 11109278
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for multiplexing clients of different generations in trigger-based transmissions, including trigger-based transmissions in extremely-high throughput (EHT) Wi-Fi systems. An access point (AP) may generate a trigger frame compatible with two types of stations (STAs), such as EHT STAs and legacy (or high efficiency (HE)) STAs. • Patent number: 11057880
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for per-station punctured transmissions. A wireless local area network (WLAN) device may determine available resource units (RUs) within a wireless channel that has a punctured frequency range. The WLAN device may allocate a plurality of RUs, from among the available RUs, for to include data for a same station. For example, a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) may include more than one RU for a first station. The RUs that are allocated to the first station may exclude the punctured frequency range. In some implementations, the plurality of RUs may be separated by at least the punctured frequency range. A signaling header in the PPDU may indicate which RUs are allocated to the first station. By allocating a plurality of RUs in a PPDU, a WLAN may support per-station puncturing within the PPDU.

  • Patent number: 11057174
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for wireless communication with partial channel puncturing. Using partial channel puncturing, a wireless local area network (WLAN) device may modulate data on a first portion of a wireless channel while refraining from modulating data on a second portion of the wireless channel. The partial channel puncturing can be used with an exclusion bandwidth zone defined for the WLAN. The exclusion bandwidth zone prevents transmissions on portions of channels so that the WLAN transmissions do not interfere with an incumbent system transmission in the exclusion bandwidth zone.

  • Patent number: 11044057
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices, and systems for wireless communications. In some systems, an access point (AP) may assign a resource unit (RU) including a non-contiguous set of tones of a channel to a wireless node, such as a station (STA). The non-contiguous set of tones includes at least some tones that are non-contiguous in the frequency domain with all other tones of the set. The AP may generate an indicator for this RU and may transmit the indicator to the wireless node. The wireless node may receive the indicator, determine the non-contiguous set of tones for the indicated RU, and transmit data over the non-contiguous set of tones for the RU. The AP may receive the data via the RU (over the non-contiguous set of tones).
