  • Publication number: 20200014509
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices, and systems for wireless communications. In some systems, an access point (AP) may assign a resource unit (RU) including a non-contiguous set of tones of a channel to a wireless node, such as a station (STA). The non-contiguous set of tones includes at least some tones that are non-contiguous in the frequency domain with all other tones of the set. The AP may generate an indicator for this RU and may transmit the indicator to the wireless node. The wireless node may receive the indicator, determine the non-contiguous set of tones for the indicated RU, and transmit data over the non-contiguous set of tones for the RU. The AP may receive the data via the RU (over the non-contiguous set of tones).

  • Patent number: 10530856
Abstract: In an embodiment, a first media presentation session is established between a first Source and the Sink, and a second media presentation session between a second Source and the Sink. First and second media streams are streamed to the Sink by the first and second Sources, respectively. The Sink presents the first and second media streams in respective portions of a display screen, and detects user input at the Sink that is indicative of a trigger to transfer data originated from the first Source to the second Source. The Sink coordinates with one or both of the first Source and the second Source to facilitate the data to be delivered to the second Source in response to the detection. As a result of the coordination, the second Source receives the first Source-originated data (e.g., from the first Source directly, or via the Sink).

  • Publication number: 20190380117
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for per-station punctured transmissions. A wireless local area network (WLAN) device may determine available resource units (RUs) within a wireless channel that has a punctured frequency range. The WLAN device may allocate a plurality of RUs, from among the available RUs, for to include data for a same station. For example, a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) may include more than one RU for a first station. The RUs that are allocated to the first station may exclude the punctured frequency range. In some implementations, the plurality of RUs may be separated by at least the punctured frequency range. A signaling header in the PPDU may indicate which RUs are allocated to the first station. By allocating a plurality of RUs in a PPDU, a WLAN may support per-station puncturing within the PPDU.

  • Publication number: 20190373586
Abstract: Techniques for control signaling in extreme high throughput (EHT) environments are described. A message transmitted by an access point (AP) may allocate resources to a plurality of stations (STAs). The AP may be configured to allocate up to 320 MHz of total bandwidth or up to sixteen spatial streams to one or more STAs. In some multiple-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) cases, the spatial configuration field may include a starting spatial stream field and a spatial stream number field. In some non-MU-MIMO cases, the spatial configuration field may be expanded by one bit or more. In some cases, content channels of a resource unit (RU) allocation table may span a frequency segment of 40 MHz.

  • Publication number: 20190342064
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a wireless device including one or more processors and a memory storing processor-readable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the wireless device to perform operations. The operations include receiving a first message indicating a reuse transmission opportunity associated with a downlink transmission from a first device to a second device. The operations further include determining to participate in the reuse transmission opportunity based at least in part on the downlink transmission. The operations further include, during the reuse transmission opportunity, transmitting uplink communications to the first device concurrently with the downlink transmission from the first device to the second device in the same frequency channel.

  • Patent number: 10470174
Abstract: The present disclosure provides various aspects related to techniques for generating trigger frames, at an access point (AP), that reduce the overhead associated with triggering an uplink transmission from the wireless station (STA). Features of the present disclosure achieve this by, for example, utilizing a single per-user information field of the trigger to signal a plurality of random access resource units that may be allocated to the one or more STAs in the network. Such a technique is an improvement over the conventional system that require each random access resource unit to be signaled separately in a separate per-user information field (thus increasing the overhead). Additionally, aspects of the present disclosure allow the AP to effectively signal to the STA whether the one or more resources allocated to the at least one STA are a single user resource unit allocation or a multi-user resource unit allocation.

  • Publication number: 20190327740
Abstract: An access point (AP) may signal management frames that include two operation information fields indicating two channel widths for different classes of wireless stations (STAs). STAs may identify one of the two operation information fields based on capabilities of the STA (e.g., whether or not the STA is capable of dual band channel bonding, resource unit or physical channel puncturing, etc.). In some cases, one operation information field may indicate a channel width within a first and second frequency band (e.g., within the 5 GHz band and the 6 GHz band), as well as a puncturing scheme associated with the channel width. In some cases, the operation information field may indicate a dual band channel bonding configuration, where two frequency segments associated with the channel bonding configuration are in two different frequency bands. In some cases, a tightened spectral mask may be used for such dual band channel bonding configurations.

  • Publication number: 20190289612
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for communicating over a wireless communication network. A wireless communication device may be configured to generate and transmit a message according to a tone plan for transmission to multiple destination devices within one of a 240 or 320 MHz channel bandwidth. The message may include a short training field (STF) and a long training field (LTF). The STF may be used by a receiver to adjust an automatic gain control (AGC) function. The LTF may be used for channel estimation. In some implementations, the STF may have a data tone plan formed from a concatenated sequence of sub-STFs. A phase rotation applied to at least one of the sub-STFs of the concatenated sequence may reduce a peak-to-average-power ratio (PAPR) of the message as compared to a non- phase rotated concatenated sequence of sub-STFs.

  • Publication number: 20190261369
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for partial bandwidth feedback based on punctured sounding. Punctured sounding is used by a transmitting device that omits portions of a channel bandwidth based on a puncturing pattern. The puncturing pattern may be based on an exclusion bandwidth zone to avoid transmissions on portions of channels that may interfere with an incumbent system transmission. The puncturing pattern may be indicated in a null data packet announcement (NDPA) to inform the receiving device that a subsequent NDP will be punctured. The receiving device may determine the feedback by measuring the portions of the NDP that are not punctured. Beamforming may be enhanced by using punctured sounding between two beamforming endpoints.

  • Publication number: 20190199491
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for wireless communication with partial channel puncturing. Using partial channel puncturing, a wireless local area network (WLAN) device may modulate data on a first portion of a wireless channel while refraining from modulating data on a second portion of the wireless channel. The partial channel puncturing can be used with an exclusion bandwidth zone defined for the WLAN. The exclusion bandwidth zone prevents transmissions on portions of channels so that the WLAN transmissions do not interfere with an incumbent system transmission in the exclusion bandwidth zone.
