  • Patent number: 6717486
Abstract: Multiple digital audio transformer circuits are included in a module for mounting in a chassis. These digital audio transformer circuits are comprised of a front mounted twisted pair digital audio cable connector and a rear mounted coaxial cable connector, with circuitry including baluns electrically linking the front and rear connectors to reduce the impedance of the signal and attenuate the amplitude of the signal voltage. In one embodiment, the module may also include removable attenuation pads accessible through the front face of the module to allow variation of the level of voltage attenuation. The preferred embodiment of the module bi-directional transforms 110 Ohm digital audio signals and 75 Ohm coaxial signals. If transformation of other levels of impedance are desired, modules may also allow for removal and replacement of the baluns. A digital audio transformer system including multi-circuit modules and rack mount equipment chassis is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20030209434
Abstract: A nitrogen oxide sensor system for measuring the amount of nitrogen oxide in a gas. A first electrode is exposed to the gas. An electrolyte is positioned in contact with the first electrode. A second electrode is positioned in contact with the electrolyte. A means for applying a fixed current between the first electrode and the second electrode and monitoring the voltage required to maintain the fixed current provides a measurement of the amount of nitrogen oxide in the gas.

  • Patent number: 6109963
Abstract: A repairable transmission line connector is provided where the center conductor has a front removable portion, and a rear portion crimped to the center conductor of the transmission cable. An outer sleeve mounted to a first coaxial conductor of the cable includes a removable front portion, and a rear portion crimped to the first coaxial conductor of the cable. An insulator holds the front center conductor wherein the insulator is held by the rear outer sleeve and the front outer sleeve. The front and rear outer sleeves, and the front and rear center conductors form a connector assembly. In a triaxial connector the connector assembly is surrounded by an insulating sleeve disposed within front and rear connector bodies connected to the cable. By disconnecting the front and rear connector bodies (if present) and the front and rear outer sleeves, access to the front center conductor is permitted for replacement of the front center conductor. The front outer sleeve and the insulator can be replaced as desired.

  • Patent number: 4300956
Abstract: Metallic bodies having discontinuously contacting sheet surfaces such as convolute-wound corrugated/non-corrugated metal sheet auto catalyst supports having metal-to-metal diffusion bonds formed at the contacting surfaces are provided. The diffusion bonds formed at the contacting surfaces are provided. The diffusion bonds are produced by heating the body in a non-oxidizing atmosphere, whereby metal from one surface diffuses into the metal from an adjacent surface. Some bonds may also be formed by welding. The bond-formation step may be performed in tandem with a subsequent step of oxidizing the sheet surfaces where they are not bonded, e.g. for making them into a more effectively-adhesive substrate for the catalyst they are to bear.

  • Patent number: 4053950
Abstract: A data processing system with improved input/output (I/O) techniques is disclosed. The input/output control logic, or channel, of a central processing unit is connected to a plurality of peripheral input/output device control units, in parallel, by a plural line interface bus which includes bidirectional data transfer lines and bidirectional address transfer wires. The interface bus also includes unidirectional lines to and from peripheral device control units which synchronize operation of use of the bus. Several forms of I/O communications are shown to be controlled by the interface bus and include, direct processor controlled data transfer with simultaneous transmission of data and commands to peripheral devices, cycle steal data transfers permitting concurrent input/output operations and central processor program instruction execution, and peripheral device initiated interrupt requests to the central processor.

  • Patent number: 4038642
Abstract: The interface between I/O control logic, or channel, and peripheral devices permits simultaneous transfer of command, device address, and data, and includes logic in a peripheral device control unit for dynamic change of the attached peripheral device interrupt priority level while the device may be executing a prior command. The I/O control logic includes means for initiating serial poll signalling while other transfers are taking place on the interface.

  • Patent number: 4038641
Abstract: Common logic in a peripheral device control unit responds to a serially propagated poll signal from I/O control logic, or channel, along with a coded signal identifying either a poll for a cycle steal request or a poll for an interrupt request having one of several priorities. The poll signal received will be captured or propagated to following control units dependent upon whether the control unit has requested a cycle steal transfer, or has requested an interrupt at the priority level indicated by the coded signal accompanying the poll signal. Proper functioning of poll capture or propagation is possible even though one of the control units is physically removed from the serial chain of control units.

  • Patent number: 3999308
Abstract: A night visual aircraft system receives flight data from an aircraft simulator, and terrain data from the gaming area data base. A computer within the night visual system organizes this image data by frame in a buffer memory according to a particular format of addresses, sequences, and bit places. The following types of image data are uniquely positioned in the format:A position vector (Vp), defining the changing position of the aircraft with respect to the terrain data origin.Rotational matrix data, defining the changing attitude of the aircraft with respect to the axes of the terrain coordinate system.Light source data, defining the position of terrain lights with respect to the origin of the terrain data.Texture data for defining areas to be activated on the CRT such as runways, horizon glow, and faces of structures.
