Abstract: A method for continuously producing disposable pant-type articles from webs moving in a machine direction, the method including attaching a non-elastic crotch web between a tensioned elastic front panel web and a tensioned elastic rear panel web to form a coherent chassis web of interconnected precursor articles and attaching a pair of stretched crotch elastic members to the chassis web in each precursor article with the crotch elastic members being arranged in a cross machine direction, whereafter leg cuts are formed in the chassis web between the precursor articles, the chassis web is folded along a fold-line extending in the machine direction, first and second side seams are formed in each precursor article, along dividing lines between the precursor articles, the side seams being formed from the aligned waist edges of the precursor articles, to the leg cuts, and finally severing individual pant-type articles from the chassis web.

Abstract: A disposable pant-type article including a front body panel and a rear body panel, each being elastically stretchable in a transverse direction, and a crotch region being located between a front panel crotch edge and a rear panel crotch edge. The article has first and second leg edges, each leg edge constituted by a front leg edge section, a rear leg edge section, and a crotch leg edge section. Each front leg edge section has an inner point located at a greater distance from a side seam than from a longitudinally extending centre line, the inner point being closer to the front waist edge than an outer point on the front leg edge section. Each crotch leg edge section has an intermediate point located between the front and rear crotch edges which is closer to the longitudinal centre line than a front endpoint of the crotch leg edge section.

Abstract: An absorbent article comprising an absorbent core being enclosed by a liquid-permeable core cover comprising an upper core cover layer and a lower core cover layer and having a longitudinal center line. The absorbent core has a pair of longitudinally extending side edges and a pair of transversely extending end edges. The core cover layers are connected inside seals extending along the side edges of the absorbent core. The absorbent core comprises one or more longitudinally extending channels arranged at a distance from the side seals, each of the one or more channels being free or substantially free from absorbent material and having a channel seal extending therein. The channel seal joins the upper and lower core cover layers of the core cover within the channel, with a seal strength of the channel seal being higher than a seal strength of each of the first and the second side seals of the absorbent core.

The crotch region is generally hourglass-shaped with a narrow intermediate portion. The crotch elastic members have first side edges at least partly coinciding with the corresponding leg edge in the crotch region. A distance as measured in the transverse direction between the first side edge of the absorbent core and the first side edge of the first crotch elastic member and a distance as measured in the transverse direction between the second side edge of the absorbent core and the first side edge of the second crotch elastic member varying with at most 30 millimetres along a full length of the crotch elastic members.

Abstract: The front and back portions are joined in a first and a second side seam along opposing side edges of the front and back portions and comprising a stretch-bonded laminate web including an elastic film which is stretch-bonded between two nonwoven webs. The side seams are constituted by fusion bonds formed by laser bonding and extend along the side edges of the front and back portions of the pant-type garment. The side seams have a width in the width direction of the pant-type garment in the range of from 0.3 to 1.5 millimetres, and a thickness in the range of from 0.2 to 1.5 millimeters, the thickness of the side seams being perpendicular to the width direction and the length direction of the pant type garment.

Abstract: A pant-type garment having a length direction and a width direction and being divided in the length direction into a front portion, a back portion and a crotch. The front and back portions are joined in a first and a second side seam arranged in first and second side seam regions and are formed as fusion bonds formed by laser bonding of superposed layers of the front and back portions along opposing side edges of the front and back portions. The side seams have a length in the length direction of the pant-type garment and are constituted by fused thermoplastic material. The disposable pant-type absorbent article has a longitudinal direction (Y) and a transverse direction (X). The disposable pant-type absorbent article is adapted for a male user. A method for manufacturing such a disposable pant-type absorbent article is also described.

The array has a first subarray including first and second sizes for female users; and a second subarray including third and fourth sizes for male users. Each absorbent article in the array has a transversely elasticised waist portion. At least one of the first and second size absorbent articles has a first circumferential length of the waist portion in a relaxed state and a second circumferential length of the waist portion in an extended state. At least one of the third and fourth size absorbent articles has a third circumferential length of the waist portion in a relaxed state and a fourth circumferential length of the waist portion in an extended state. Abstract: An elastic laminate including a first nonwoven layer, a second nonwoven layer, and a plurality of elastic strands arranged in parallel with one another between said first and second nonwoven layers is disclosed, as well as a process for the production of the laminate. The elastic laminate includes elastic strands that are stretched and individually coated with an adhesive. The first and second nonwoven layers are attached to the stretched elastic strands to provide a corrugated elastic laminate when the elastic strands are relaxed. At least one of the nonwoven layers is attached to the strands at distinct adhesive bonding points in a repeating predetermined pattern in a lengthwise direction along the strands to form a predetermined corrugation pattern, and the nonwoven layers are substantially free of adhesive, except in the adhesive bonding points where the layers are attached to the elastic strands.

The absorbent body is located mainly in a crotch portion of the article. An elastic leg feature is fastened to the chassis at least partly along leg edges. The elastic leg feature extends from the associated side edge towards a centre line in the longitudinal direction of the article. Abstract: An array of gender-specific disposable absorbent articles is provided. The array has a first disposable absorbent article adapted to be worn by males and a second disposable article adapted to be worn by females. Both articles have in their longitudinal direction, a front portion, a back portion and a crotch portion between the front portion and the back portion. The first article has a first elastic component configured for providing fit and comfort to a male user. The second article has a second elastic component configured for providing fit and comfort to a female user. The first and the second elastic components each have a plurality of elastic elements extending at least partly along each respective article. The first and second elastic components differ from each other in at least the positioning or the elastic strength of the respective elastic elements. A method for manufacturing the array is also provided.
