  • Patent number: 6697482
Abstract: Method and system for transmitting messages to subscribers of a telephone network during the set-up stage of incoming calls prior to the off-hook from a local exchange to at least one telephone terminal through an access system. The access system simulates, on one hand, the operation of a telephone terminal towards the local switching exchange such that it receives, from the local switching exchange and by means of an access node located in the access system, a first message preferably modulated and demodulates and stores it for subsequent replication; and, on the other hand, simulates the operation of a local switching exchange towards the telephone terminal such that it generates and transmits to the telephone terminal and by means of a network termination located in the access system, a second message preferably modulated which is a replication of the first message.

  • Patent number: 6507506
Abstract: The invention is designed for vehicles having two electrical power supply systems and corresponding differentiated voltage level charges and two batteries operating at a first and a second voltage level. A bidirectional voltage converter cooperates with both systems whose input and output stages are galvanically insulated and include a switch. The batteries are connected to said input and output at a first and a second voltage level so that said bidirectional converter can provide a first reduced voltage mode and a second increased voltage mode. The passive components, e.g. the magnetic components and capacitances, of said stages have been chosen to provide an identical transitional behavior in both modes when a disruption occurs in the regulating system either in the charge or the input voltage.

  • Patent number: 6154369
Abstract: An electronic assembly (20) having an insulated metal heat sink (10) and a method of manufacturing the electronic assembly (20). The electronic assembly (20) has a heat dissipater (11), a dielectric material (12), and a conductive layer (13). A semiconductor chip (21) is attached to the insulated metal heat sink (10). Heat generated by the semiconductor chip (21) is conducted to the conduction surface (14) of the heat dissipater (11). In one embodiment a convection surface (16) of the heat dissipater (11) is present and the heat is transferred from the convection surface (16) of the heat dissipater (11) to a fluid by convection. The fluid is directed by a manifold (64).

  • Patent number: 5664696
Abstract: A battery of reservoirs for storing fuel, gas, contaminants and/or fluids, including external means for structurally protecting the tanks and providing stability to protect the surrounding environment from fluid leaks. The external means comprise a plurality of two-tiered containers, each sealed off below and all around its sides by a wall the inner surface of which is covered by a membrane of a impermeable and chemically resistent material. A concrete lid seals each tank and has at least one orifice communicating with the load inlet of the corresponding tank. The walls of the container have at least one orifice through which a respective pipe passes for dispensing fuel and means for coupling slings for hoisting and lowering the container. Such coupling means are later used for attaching deadweights after installation.
