  • Patent number: 9402171
Abstract: A wireless communication device can provide an indication that its registration in a circuit-switched domain of a network is intended only for a short message service that is included in or accompanies a registration request, such as a combined registration for both the CS domain and a packet-switched (PS) domain. The device can also change a conventional order of its domain registrations, e.g., by performing a PS-domain registration before a CS-domain registration, when it will send SMS messages over the PS domain. The device can indicate its intention to use or support for SMS over the PS domain and/or be informed about network support for SMS over the PS domain before the UE attempts a network registration.

  • Patent number: 9397578
Abstract: A digital control unit generates a control signal to control a duty cycle of a switched mode power supply such that a faster response to an input voltage transient is achieved. The digital control unit comprises a feedback compensator, a feed forward compensator, a transient detector, and a controller. The transient detector receives a signal indicative of the input voltage of the switched mode power supply and detects transients on the received signal. The feedback compensator receives a signal indicative of the output voltage of the switched mode power supply and adjusts the control signal. The feed forward compensator receives a signal indicative of the input voltage of the switched mode power supply, performs a relatively fast, but coarse, adjustment of the control signal, and then performs a more accurate, but relatively slow, adjustment of the control signal.

  • Patent number: 9391504
Abstract: A control circuit generates a control signal to control a duty cycle of a switched mode power supply such that the magnetic flux density in the transformer is balanced, thereby preventing saturation of the transformer core. This permits the use of unsymmetrical duty cycles within the switch cycle. The control circuit comprises a flux density calculator and a regulator. The flux density regulator receives a signal indicative of the input voltage of the switched mode power supply and a feedback signal comprising the generated control signal, and it generates therefrom an average flux density signal. The regulator receives the generated average flux density signal and a signal indicative of the output voltage of the switched mode power supply, and generates the control signal in dependence upon the average flux density signal, the reference flux density signal, the signal indicative of the output voltage and a reference voltage signal.

  • Patent number: 9380502
Abstract: A method implemented by a MS for controlling handover of the MS from a source cell of a source RAN operating in PS domain to a target cell of a target RAN operating in PS domain where the target RAN supports MOCN. The method includes receiving SI transmitted by a node of the source RAN. The SI includes a selected PLMN, LAC of the target cell, and RAC of the target cell. The MS executes handover to the target RAN. A target RAI is determined using the selected PLMN, LAC of the target cell, and RAC of the target cell from the SI transmitted by the node of the source RAN. The target RAI is compared to a registered RAI of the MS. The MS determines whether a RAU is needed in the target RAN based on the comparison of the target RAI to the registered RAI.

  • Patent number: 9362832
Abstract: An intermediate bus architecture power supply system including an output voltage feedback-regulated, isolated first stage switching voltage converter (SVC) such as an intermediate bus converter, connected via an intermediate voltage bus (IVB) to at least one second stage DC-to-DC voltage converter. The first stage SVC is configured to adjust its switching duty cycle to compensate for voltage fluctuations on the IVB. The voltage regulation mechanism of the first stage SVC may thus suppress oscillations in the IVB voltage which originate from the first stage SVC's input or from fluctuations in the system's load current, and consequently reduce electromagnetic interference as well as the amplitude of voltage and current fluctuations on the IVB.

  • Publication number: 20160007385
Abstract: The embodiments herein relate to a method in a UE (101) for handling ESM information. The UE (101) supports reception of information to be used in determination of the ESM information. The UE (101) receives, from an MME (105), information about at least one supported EPS network feature which the UE (101) may use. The information is received before the UE (101) sends ESM information to the MME (105). Based on the received information, the UE (101) determines the ESM information for a PDN connection for the UE (101). The UE (101) sends the determined ESM information to the MME (105).

  • Publication number: 20150349646
Abstract: A control circuit for a switched mode power supply and a related method are provided for controlling switching elements in a power train of a switched mode power supply. The control circuit comprises a mode controller to monitor the output current to determine whether the output current exceeds a current threshold. The mode controller controls the switching controller to generate the switch control signals. When the current exceeds the current threshold, the power train operates in a continuous conduction mode, and when the output current has fallen to or below the current threshold, the operation of the power train is changed from the continuous conduction mode to a pulse skipping mode. The pulse skipping mode is entered from the continuous conduction mode and involves determining the amount of energy stored in a secondary circuit of the power train.
