  • Publication number: 20240073178
Abstract: Embodiments describing methods performed by a system comprising Network functions including at least a Session Management Function and a User Plane Function for performing a UPF re-anchoring for an application triggered at a User Equipment over an established Packet Data Unit (PDU) Session, where when the system receives the initial trigger for a service triggered by the application (e.g., a DNS request or an application level request), a determination is made by the system based on the information related to the application that re-anchoring of the UPF for that application into a local UPF closer to the UE is required. When re-anchoring of the UPF is successful, the initial trigger is discarded, and the UE is instructed to establish a new PDU session over the local UPF for that application.

  • Publication number: 20230412917
Abstract: An optical sensor module has a controller, a sensor array, present state decision circuitry, and a pattern recognizer. The sensor array comprises a plurality of CMOS sensor pixels, wherein the sensor array is configured to supply one of a plurality of analog sensor signals at each of a sequence of sample times, wherein at each of the sample times, the one of the plurality of analog sensor signals is derived from one or more of the plurality of CMOS sensor pixels. The present state decision circuitry is configured to compare the one of the plurality of the analog sensor signals with a respective controller-selected reference voltage and to generate therefrom a respective single state decision signal. The pattern recognizer is configured to assert a pattern recognition signal whenever a plurality of sequentially generated single state decision signals matches a currently active one of a set of one or more reference sequences of single state decision signals.

  • Publication number: 20230337087
Abstract: Re-anchoring with Session Management Function (SMF) re-selection is disclosed herein. According to some embodiments, if, for an existing User Equipment (UE) Packet Data Unit (PDU) session, an SMF determines that the current PDU Session Anchor (PSA) for the UE PDU Session is to be relocated and further determines that relocation involves an SMF re-selection, then the SMF initiates re-establishment of the PDU session. During re-establishment, the SMF conveys to an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) Edge Computing (EC) context information relevant for the new PDU session. The AMF in some embodiments may use some of this information related to the location of the PSA (DNAI) to select the new SMF, and passes this information to the selected SMF for the new PDU session. Based on the information received, the new SMF in some embodiments establishes the new PDU session and selects and configures the PSA(s) for the new session.

  • Publication number: 20230297654
Abstract: A method of authorizing a device action includes accessing a first baseline model that represents image characteristics of an authorized first user or object. The first baseline model is used as a basis for selecting a first number of sensing structures of a camera image sensor, wherein the first number of sensing structures of the camera image sensor is less than a total number of sensing structures of the camera image sensor. The selected first number of sensing structures of the camera image sensor is activated and a first image sensed by the activated first number of sensing structures is obtaining. The first image is compared with the first baseline model. A next round of authorization processing is activated when an amount of correlation between the first image and the first baseline model satisfies a threshold correlation amount.

  • Publication number: 20230288554
Abstract: A node in a wireless communication system coordinates multistatic radar measurements, wherein the node controls a plurality of wireless communication devices. Coordination involves obtaining an indication that a first sensing area located within a geographic area that is served by the node is to be sensed by a first radar signal. A first multistatic radar group of wireless communication devices selected from a participating group of the plurality of wireless communication devices and the node is formed, wherein the first multistatic radar group comprises at least one device for transmitting the first radar signal and at least two devices for receiving one or more reflections of the transmitted first radar signal. The first multistatic radar group is controlled to introduce the first radar signal into the first sensing area and to receive the one or more reflections of the introduced first radar signal.

  • Publication number: 20220304104
Abstract: A network provides PDU sessions between wireless devices and data networks. UPFs in the network handle the user planes of these PDU sessions, while SMFs in the network manage the PDU sessions. The SMFs have dedicated interfaces for signaling sessions to the UPFs. In the occasion that managing of a PDU session has to be transferred from one SMF to another SMF, the first SMF has to release the signalling session with the UPF for the PDU session, and a second SMF has to re-establish the signaling session with the UPF for the same PDU session. To avoid that during the transfer of the management responsibility transfer the wireless device experiences a hick-up in the PDU session the first SMS includes a control element in the release message to the UPF, indicating to the UPF that the signaling session for the PDU session will be re-established by a second SMF, and that the UPF shall continue the handling of the PDU session till re-establishment.

  • Publication number: 20210105658
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to symbol processing methods. One example method, applied to a radio unit, includes detecting numeric values of first N sampling points on each symbol of a target subframe, where symbol periodicities of symbols of the target subframe are the same, and N is a positive integer greater than 0, in response to detecting that numeric values of first N sampling points on a first symbol are all 0, determining that no service data is sent on the first symbol, and shutting down a power amplifier within a symbol periodicity of the first symbol.

  • Patent number: 10623997
Abstract: According to a first aspect of embodiments herein, the object is achieved by a method performed by a mobile terminal for uploading a file in a communications network. After the mobile terminal (201) has selected a buffering module to be used for uploading the file, it sends (202) to the selected buffering module, the file to be uploaded in the communications network. The mobile terminal receives (204) a notification from the selected buffering module. The notification is about an estimated time to any one or more out of: upload start and upload end. The mobile terminal then refrains (205) from re-sending to the selected buffering module the file to be uploaded in the communications network until the estimated time to any one or more out of: upload start and upload end has expired.

  • Patent number: 10484965
Abstract: A method and a vehicle as well as a method and a user equipment for enabling a network node to manage paging of the user equipment are disclosed. Moreover, a method and a network node for managing paging of a user equipment are disclosed. The user equipment sends, to the vehicle, an identification of the user equipment by use of a direct wireless communication connection. Then, the vehicle sends, to the network node, the identification of the user equipment. The network node sends, to the user equipment, a control message instructing the user equipment to apply a second DRX cycle, wherein the second DRX cycle is longer than a first DRX cycle. The network node also receives, from the vehicle, position information of the vehicle, whereby the network node, upon paging of the user equipment, sends a paging message, based on the position information of the vehicle, to the user equipment. Corresponding computer programs and carriers therefor are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9894692
Abstract: For transmitting data between a node (100) of a mobile network and a further node (200), the further node sends downlink data packets to the node (100) of the mobile network. The downlink data packets carry a destination address corresponding to a user equipment (10) connected to the mobile network. For implementing an inband data channel between the node (100) of the mobile network and the further node (200), the further node (200) inserts data destined to the node (100) of the mobile network into at least one of the downlink data packets and marks this downlink data packet as including data destined to the node (100) of the mobile network. The node (100) of the mobile network receives the downlink data packets from the further node (200) and identities, on the basis of the marking, the least one downlink data packet including data destined to the node (100) of the mobile network. The node (100) of the mobile network then extracts the data from the identified downlink data packet.
