  • Patent number: 8879477
Abstract: The invention provides an increase in the radio coverage area (10) of a base transceiver station (100) having access to multiple transceivers (102, 104, 106, 108) by dedicating at least one of the transceivers (102) for BCCH data. This BCCH transceiver (102) is connected to an antenna arrangement (120) 5 comprising at least two antenna elements (121, 123; 125, 127). Increased BCCH radio coverage (30) is achieved by providing antenna hopping among the at least two antenna elements (121, 123; 125, 127) for the BCCH. Correspondingly, increased TCH coverage (20) is achieved by providing frequency hopping among at least two carrier frequencies for the TCH. The 10 coverage (10) of the base transceiver station (100) is defined as the intersection of the BCCH radio coverage (30) and the TCH coverage (20).

  • Publication number: 20140301261
Abstract: A method performed by a radio communication device for discontinuous reception, DRX, of data from a radio network node is disclosed. When information, indicating that data is scheduled to the radio communication device in a DRX cycle, is received (102, 104(Y)) during an initial part of a DRX cycle, a receiver of the radio communication device is activated (110) at the time data is received and deactivated (110) when data is not received. When information is not received (104(N)) or when the information indicates that no data is scheduled (108(N)) during a remaining part of the DRX cycle, the receiver is kept (106) deactivated. A method performed by the radio network node for enabling DRX of data by the radio communication device is disclosed, as well as the radio communication device and the radio network node. Micro sleep during single time slices, such as time slots, is enabled.

  • Patent number: 8824417
Abstract: A method for a call control node (MSC Server) enhanced for Single Radio Voice Call Continuity (SRVCC) allowing for a session transfer of a call involving a User Equipment (UE) of a handover party from a circuit switched (CS) access towards a target packet switched (PS) access is provided, the call involving said handover party and another party, said call being anchored in an Service Centralization and Continuity Application Server (SCC AS) of the IP-Multimedia-Subsystem (IMS), the method comprising the steps of receiving (202) an indication that the User Equipment (UE) is SRVCC capable, receiving (204) an indication of an address and port the UE is going to use for speech media over PS, providing (206) the UE with an indication of the address and port to be used towards the other party (remote end), deciding (208) to perform a SRVCC from CS access to said target PS access, sending (210) a relocation request for a bearer to a respective mobility management node (SGSN/MME), including said address and said port

  • Publication number: 20140241305
Abstract: For transmitting data between a node (100) of a mobile network and a further node (200), the further node sends downlink data packets to the node (100) of the mobile network. The downlink data packets carry a destination address corresponding to a user equipment (10) connected to the mobile network. For implementing an inband data channel between the node (100) of the mobile network and the further node (200), the further node (200) inserts data destined to the node (100) of the mobile network into at least one of the downlink data packets and marks this downlink data packet as including data destined to the node (100) of the mobile network. The node (100) of the mobile network receives the downlink data packets from the further node (200) and identities, on the basis of the marking, the least one downlink data packet including data destined to the node (100) of the mobile network. The node (100) of the mobile network then extracts the data from the identified downlink data packet.

  • Patent number: 8762977
Abstract: Mobile device software is managed by providing an interface between a plurality of software module handlers and a plurality of software modules. The interface is invoked responsive to a software module event such as the installation, removal, activation or modification of a software module. The interface identifies the software module and a corresponding attribute list associated with the software module event. The attribute list specifies one or more actions to be taken by at least one of the software module handlers that enable the identified software module to provide one or more functions when invoked. The attribute list is provided to each software module handler identified in the list and each action specified in the list is taken by the corresponding software module handler. This way, the interface reliably manages the different software modules without being aware of the particular functions provided by the modules or the specific actions taken by the handlers.

  • Patent number: 8708058
Abstract: An arrangement and a method for controlling at least one drill parameter when drilling in rock with a rock drill, comprising an impulse-generating device arranged to induce shock waves in a tool acting against the rock with a percussive force generated via a shock wave-generating pressure. The arrangement and method comprises a control system for determining a first parameter value representing the damping pressure, determining a second parameter value representing the rotation pressure of a drill bit, determining a deviation between the second parameter value and a rotation pressure reference value, determining a parameter reference value depending on the deviation, and regulating the percussion pressure based on a function of the deviation and the parameter reference value.

  • Publication number: 20140113667
Abstract: A node (130, 135) for use in a cellular system (110, 115, 120), arranged to establish a context for a User Equipment, a UE (105), for the message types SMS, Small Data and Trigger Information. The node (130, 135) is arranged to establish the context when the UE (105) performs an Initial Attach to the cellular system and indicates support for at least one said message types. The node (130, 135) is arranged to have two modes available for the context, those modes being a “Currently Serving” mode and a “Forwarding” mode, where, in the Currently Serving mode, messages are delivered to the UE (105), and, in the Forwarding mode, messages are forwarded to a node (130, 135) that is in the Currently Serving mode at the moment.

  • Patent number: 8706122
Abstract: In order to prevent a mobile terminated (MT) call to a user equipment (UE) from being lost by addressing a Location Area/Tracking Area (LA/TA) mismatch problem that could occur during a circuit switched (CS) Fallback, the method comprises the steps of: receiving a paging message from a mobility management entity, MME, where the paging message identifies suitable location areas, the paging message is sent because a first mobile switching center, MSC1, received a MT call request for the UE; determining that there are no 2G/3G cells belonging to the suitable location areas based on a current location of the UE; identifying a target 2G/3G cell in a location area associated with the current location of the UE but not part of the 2G/3G cells belonging to the suitable location areas; and enabling a signaling connection to be established between the UE and the first MSC1 via a second mobile switching center, MSC2, where the second MSC2 interfaces with a base station controller, BSC2, or a radio network controller, RN

  • Publication number: 20140051443
Abstract: Methods and apparatus enhance a circuit-switched call fallback (CSFB) service for a user equipment (UE) currently connected to a source cell in a serving radio access technology (RAT) communications network. Multiple different mobile network operators share a target CSFB cell selected for CSFB from one or more circuit-switched capable cells that supports circuit-switched services. Each mobile network operator is associated with a corresponding mobile network identifier. The UE transmits a first message requesting a CSFB service to a source cell radio network node serving the source cell. The source node, in response to the first message, sends a second message to the UE including preferred mobile network identifier information and a target CSFB cell identifier. The UE transmits a third message to a target cell node serving the target CSFB cell to trigger the establishment of a circuit-switched call connection for the UE in the target CSFB cell.
