  • Patent number: 9960598
Abstract: A method for optimizing a fleet of generating assets in which groupings include remotely located power blocks that operate so to collectively generate a fleet output level. The method may include: receiving real-time and historical measured values of operating parameters; for each of the generating assets, deriving a relational expression between the measured values of the process inputs and the measured values of the process outputs; defining a selected operating period; selecting competing operating modes for the fleet; based on the relational expressions and a generating configuration of the competing operating modes, calculating a result set for the operation of the fleet proposed during the selected operating period; defining a cost function; and evaluating each of the result sets pursuant to the cost function and, based thereupon, designating one of the competing operating modes as an optimized operating mode.

  • Patent number: 9925102
Abstract: A system for changing the width of a person support apparatus includes a bed controller for receiving a command signal indicating a command for width alteration, a first motor controlled by the bed controller for driving an extension of a first deck section of the support apparatus thereby altering the width of the first deck section, and a second motor controlled by the bed controller for driving an extension of a second deck section of the support apparatus thereby altering the width of the second deck section. The bed controller controls the first motor and the second motor in a manner that causes the first deck section to reach a first deck section width alteration limit at a first time and the second deck section to reach a second deck section width alteration limit at a second time, wherein the first time and the second time are not equal.

  • Publication number: 20180032374
Abstract: The time required to launch an application may be reduced by increasing the performance of the system upon receiving an input indicative of a request to launch an application and decreasing the performance of the system upon receiving a notification that the Application has successfully launched. On Android® platforms, a PowerHAL wrapper layer may be created to generate an APP_LAUNCHER_START token upon receipt of the request to launch an application and an APP_LAUNCHER_COMPLETE token when the application has successfully launched. These tokens may be passed to a Generic Kernel Interface layer that increases system performance upon receipt of the APP_LAUNCHER_START token and reduced system performance upon receipt of the APP_LAUNCHER_COMPLETE token. A safety timer may be used to return the system to a lower performance state in the event the application fails to launch.
