  • Patent number: 7935356
Abstract: The present invention provides live, attenuated Mycoplasma gallisepticum bacteria that exhibit reduced expression of a protein identified as MGA_0621. In certain embodiments, the attenuated bacteria may additionally exhibit reduced expression of one or more proteins selected from the group consisting of pyruvate dehydrogenase, phosphopyruvate hydratase, 2-deoxyribose-5-phosphate aldolase, and ribosomal protein L35, relative to a wild-type M. gallisepticum bacterium. Also provided are vaccines and vaccination methods involving the use of the live, attenuated M. gallisepticum bacteria, and methods for making live attenuated M. gallisepticum bacteria. An exemplary live, attenuated strain of M. gallisepticum is provided, designated MGx+47, which was shown by proteomics analysis to exhibit significantly reduced expression of MGA_0621, and was shown to be safe and effective when administered as a vaccine against M. gallisepticum infection in chickens.

The housing has a pair of side walls that are angled and non-parallel to one another such that at the second end only a single piglet can exit at one time. The system also includes a vaccination station for individually vaccinating piglets. The vaccination station is located between the pair of side walls in a region thereof that is sized to only permit one piglet to stand between the side walls. The vaccination station includes at least one sensor that detects the presence of the one piglet within the vaccination station and at least one spray nozzle positioned within the vaccination station such that a vaccine dose discharged therefrom is directed upwardly into facial areas of the piglet effectively.

  • Publication number: 20100141767
Abstract: A method for capturing surveillance images includes of a secured area has a first camera with a first field of view and a second camera with a second field of view. An optical center is determined for the second field of view. A magnification ratio is determined between a target located in the first field of view relative to the second field of view. A pan and tilt model is determined that provides a relationship between a first camera coordinates and pan and tilt values to position the second camera at the optical center. A target is captured in the first field of view and the second camera is controlled to record the target in the second field of view with the second field of view being an enhanced view relative to the first field of view.

  • Publication number: 20100140060
Abstract: An ignition key switch apparatus having a compact size, high current capability, and a snap action mechanism. A pre-loaded snap spring can be configured to include a fixed end attached to an anchor and a free end attached to a movable contact operable between normal and actuated positions. A cam can be utilized to convert a rotary motion at a key interface into a linear movement of a plunger for snap spring blade actuation. The unique pre-loaded snap spring generates a fast (e.g., instantaneous) movement from an open to a closed position and vice versa upon application/removal of a load to reduce the effect of arcing on associated contacts and conductors. The pre-loaded snap spring also ensures that the movable contact does not remain in any intermittent position, other than the two extreme positions given at any position of the plunger.

  • Publication number: 20090313317
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a computer implemented method and system for streaming multimedia content available at a content server with a determinate bandwidth to multiple clients. A client agent provided on each of the clients requests a server agent on a content server for multimedia content. First connections are established to the content server by a predefined number of first clients from the requesting clients using the client agent. The predefined number is determined by the bandwidth available at the content server. The server agent then transfers the multimedia content to the first clients by utilizing the first connections. The server agent identifies the first clients for availability of a predetermined bandwidth for streaming multimedia content to second clients. Second connections are then established between the identified first clients and the second clients. The identified first clients then transfer the multimedia content to the second clients by utilizing the second connections.

  • Publication number: 20080241192
Abstract: The present invention provides methods for inducing cross-protective immunity against virulent strains of P. multocida in animals such as cattle and poultry. The methods of the invention include administering to an animal a mutant P. multocida strain, whereby the mutant P. multocida strain induces cross-protective immunity against one or more virulent P. multocida strains having serotypes that are different from the serotype of the mutant P. multocida strain. The mutant P. multocida strain will preferably contain one or more mutations that cause the cells to be acapsular and/or attenuated. Exemplary mutations include, e.g., mutations that impair the expression of one or more genes in the P. multocida capsule biosynthetic operon (e.g., phyB, phyA, hyaE, hyaD, hyaC, hyaB, hexD, hexC, hexB, and/or hexA).
