  • Publication number: 20150156144
Abstract: The methods and systems in this invention apply to messaging systems that are used by people to communicate between a plurality of mobile devices and/or computers. Methods and systems are presented for communicating with participants in a manner that allows for more open discussion and gossiping. The methods and systems permit a conversation between a plurality of users in a manner such that one or more users in the system are excluded from participating in the said conversation. The methods and systems also allow one or more users to participate in a conversation without revealing identity by choosing to be anonymous, choosing an alias, or by impersonating another user or reverting to original identity at any point during the gossip. The methods and systems presented also provide for the option for other users to know if a user is participating by impersonating or via an alias. The methods and systems also allow for any user in the system to delete any message posted by the said user in a conversation.

  • Publication number: 20150146027
Abstract: Systems, apparatus and methods for triggering a depth sensor and/or limiting bandwidth and/or maintaining privacy are presented. By limiting use of a depth sensor to times when an optical image alone is insufficient, mobile device power is saved. Furthermore, by reducing a size of an optical image to only the portion of the image needed to detect an object, bandwidth is saved and privacy is maintained by not communicating unneeded or undesired information.

  • Publication number: 20150146926
Abstract: Systems, apparatus and methods in a mobile device to enable and disable a depth sensor for tracking pose of the mobile device are presented. A mobile device relaying on a camera without a depth sensor may provide inadequate pose estimates, for example, in low light situations. A mobile device with a depth sensor uses substantial power when the depth sensor is enabled. Embodiments described herein enable a depth sensor only when images are expected to be inadequate, for example, accelerating or moving too fast, when inertial sensor measurements are too noisy, light levels are too low or high, an image is too blurry, or a rate of images is too slow. By only using a depth sensor when images are expected to be inadequate, battery power in the mobile device may be conserved and pose estimations may still be maintained.

  • Patent number: 9043305
Abstract: Various embodiments provide an ability to abstract type resolution between multiple type systems. At least one type can be described in one or more programmatically accessible file(s). In some embodiments, an application using a different type system can programmatically access and resolve a type of the at least one type system without knowledge of a location of where a description of the type resides. Alternately or additionally, type descriptions contained in the one or more programmatically accessible file(s) can be analyzed and restructured into one or more new programmatically accessible file(s) based, at least in part, upon the type descriptions.

  • Patent number: 9042902
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed that provide for the control, by a third party, of call-related services that are provided to a wireless subscriber. For each mobile station whose calls and other communications are to be controlled, the server interposes itself between the serving Visitor Location Register (VLR) of the mobile station and the subscriber's Home Location Register (HLR). Through a sequence of standardized messages, the server represents itself to the unsuspecting HLR as the mobile station's new serving VLR. The server receives from the subscriber's HLR a first set of subscriber data that comprises data related to call-service permissions. The server then modifies a parameter from the first set, restricting an end-user service to the mobile station. The server then transmits the modified parameter to the serving VLR, which is used to block one or more types of calls that involve the mobile station.

  • Publication number: 20150141303
Abstract: A binary or ternary surfactant mixture for use in enhanced oil recovery within a reservoir having total dissolved solids greater than approximately 80,000 parts per million (i.e., heavy to extreme brine conditions) includes at least two of a propoxylated/ethoxylated alcohol sulfate, an ethoxylated alcohol sulfate, and a monoalkyl or dialkyl diphenyloxide disulfonate. The surfactant mixture is used without alcohol, which is unnecessary to maintain solution stability and good coalescence rates and thus improves compatibility with polymers added to improve the mobility ratio. During testing, exceptional solution stability, excellent oil recovery capability, and good compatibility was observed with these surfactant blends. The mixtures are effective at concentrations below 1% and as low as 0.1% by weight.
