  • Publication number: 20140380271
Abstract: Methods and systems for facilitating incremental software development are disclosed. For example, a method can include receiving a plurality of binary software libraries sufficient for building a software project. A request from a user to modify source code for at least one of the plurality of binary libraries is received. In response to receiving the request, the source code for the at least one of the plurality of binary libraries is retrieved. The source code for the at least one of the plurality of binary libraries is presented to the user. Modified source code for the at least one of the plurality of binary libraries is received. The modified source code is compiled to produce compiled modified code. A revised version of the software project is built using the compiled modified code and the plurality of binary libraries.

  • Publication number: 20140370929
Abstract: Radio Frequency (RF) power back-off optimization techniques are described for specific absorption rate (SAR) compliance. A mobile device may be configured to intelligently modify antennas and radio device transmission levels to maintain compliance with SAR limits while minimally perturbing radio operations. The mobile device may implement a SAR optimization scheme that accounts for user presence and signal conditions to maintain compliance. Rather than setting a fixed back-off, user presence detectors may be employed along with information on current signal conditions to determine potential for excessive SAR exposure and selectively apply variable adjustments to RF transmission power (e.g., “back-offs”), accordingly. The mobile device may also be configured to report SAR conditions and/or mitigation actions to a base station to enable the base station to manage a connection to services based at least in part upon knowledge of SAR actions taken by the mobile computing device.

  • Publication number: 20140372787
Abstract: A circuit and method for implementing a adaptive bit-leveling function in an integrated circuit interface is disclosed. During a calibration operation, a pre-loaded data bit pattern is continuously sent from a sending device and is continuously read from an external bus by a receiving device. A programmable delay line both advances and delays each individual data bit relative to a sampling point in time, and delay counts relative to a reference point in time are recorded for different sampled data bit values, enabling a delay to be determined that best samples a data bit at its midpoint. During the advancing and delaying of a data bit, jitter on the data bit signal may cause an ambiguity in the determination of the midpoint, and solutions are disclosed for detecting jitter and for resolving a midpoint for sampling a data bit even in the presence of the jitter.

  • Publication number: 20140366119
Abstract: An approach for regional firewall clustering for optimal state-sharing of different sites in a virtualized/networked (e.g., cloud) computing environment is provided. In a typical embodiment, each firewall in a given region is informed of its peer firewalls via a registration process with a centralized server. Each firewall opens up an Internet protocol (IP)-based communication channel to each of its peers in the region to share state table information. This allows for asymmetrical firewall flows through the network and allows routing protocols to ascertain the best path to a given destination without having to take firewall placement into consideration.
