  • Patent number: 6041214
Abstract: An image forming apparatus is provided with a printer section for printing an image on a sheet and a sorter having a plurality of bin trays. Printed sheets discharged from the above printer section are discharged onto the designated bin tray corresponding to the destination of the print job among the plurality of bin trays. There are provided a page number counting section for counting the number of pages of the print job and a capacity changing section for increasing the capacity of the designated bin tray when the number of pages of the print job is greater than a specified number. This image forming apparatus can improve the ease of use in a mail bin mode.

  • Patent number: 5962977
Abstract: A low pressure discharge lamp in which, even during uninterrupted operation, a low lamp voltage characteristic is maintained over a long time interval and in which high radiant efficiency can be obtained over a long time is achieved via a low pressure discharge lamp which has a tubular glass bulb in which a pair of electrodes are located opposite one another, by an electron emission material which contains lithium being included on or in the electrode substrate. Advantageously, the electron emission material contains at least one of the following materials: metallic lithium, an alloy of lithium and another metal, an oxide of lithium, a mixture of an oxide of lithium with another metal oxide, and an oxide which contains lithium and another metal element and which is a compound identified by the formula Li--M--O.sub.x where M designates at least one element selected from among the alkali earth metals, rare earth metals and transition metal, and x is the number of oxygen atoms required for valency equalization.

  • Patent number: 5732569
Abstract: This invention seeks to provide an adsorption type air cooler, which has high COP and is capable of stable operation for long time. In the prior art, when vapor coolant produced through heat exchange with load water in a coolant tank functioning as an evaporator is adsorbed in an adsorbent heat exchanger, cooling water for removing the heat of adsorption is circulated at a constant temperature and a constant flow rate determined by normal environment.According to the invention as claimed in claim 1, the temperature and flow rate of cooling water for removing the heat of adsorption are controlled artificially according to the cold output of load water by utilizing heated cooling water after the removal of the heat of adsorption or heat source water, etc.According to the invention as claimed in claim 1, a coolant tank and a load heat exchanger unit are provided as separate units.

  • Patent number: 5184277
Abstract: A ceramic capacitor having excellent electric characteristics includes internal electrodes comprising a base metal such as Ni, and a method for fabricating the capacitor includes the step of firing under a non-oxidation atmosphere. A dielectric layer of the ceramic capacitor comprises a basic and additional components. The basic components comprises a material represented by the following formula:(1-.alpha.) {(Ba.sub.k-x-z M.sub.x L.sub.z)O.sub.k (Ti.sub.1-y R.sub.y)O.sub.2-y/2 }+.alpha.BaZrO.sub.3where, M is Mg and/or Zn, L is Ca and/or Sr, R is a rare earth element, and .alpha., k, x, z and y are nuermals fulfilling the conditions of 0.005.ltoreq..alpha..ltoreq.0.04, 1.00.ltoreq.k.ltoreq.k.ltoreq.1.05, 0<x<0.10, 0<z.ltoreq.0.05, 0.01.ltoreq.x+z.ltoreq.0.10, and 0<y.ltoreq.0.04. The additional component comprises Li.sub.2 O (or B.sub.2 O.sub.3), SiO.sub.2 and MO (MO is at least one metal oxide selected from the group consisting of BaO, SrO, CaO, MgO and ZnO).

  • Patent number: 4576113
Abstract: In an apparatus for applying a viscous material, for example, a frit slurry, to a horizontally disposed seal edge surface of the funnel portion of a cathode ray tube through nozzles moved in a closed pattern above such surface, the frit slurry is supplied under pressure from a valved outlet of a container or other source through flexible hoses and then bellows to the nozzles, and the bellows are contracted and expanded in correspondence with the opening and closing, respectively, of the valved outlet.

  • Patent number: 4482579
Abstract: For supplying frit slurry to the sealing surface of a funnel portion of a cathode ray tube, air under pressure, preferably saturated with a solvent for the frit slurry, is supplied to a vessel containing the frit slurry, and the latter is transported by the air under pressure out of an outlet of the vessel and through a hose or hoses for deposit on the sealing surface. The flow of frit slurry is regulated by a valve between the vessel outlet and the hoses. The frit slurry contained in the vessel is stirred continuously to maintain a substantially constant slurry viscosity as the slurry leaves the vessel outlet.
