Publication number: 20220100694Abstract: PCI-Express (PCIE) is a Bus or I/O interconnect standard typically used for communication between a PCIE enabled computing system having a root complex and a plurality of peripheral devices, where the PCIE Bus may include a PCIE switch with a single inbound PCIE port. An outbound PCIE port on the root complex of the computing system connecting to the single inbound PCIE port of the PCIE switch. The invention describes a PCIE based interconnect scheme using a PCIE network switch to enable switching and inter-connection between multiple PCIE enabled computing systems to form a cluster for data transfer using PCIE protocol. For this, an outbound port enabled for interconnection, on each of the plurality of PCIE based computing systems in the cluster connect to one of a plurality of inbound PCIE ports on the PCIE network switch, enabling communication between the PCIE based computing systems of the cluster.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 12, 2021Publication date: March 31, 2022Inventor: Mammen Thomas

Publication number: 20220078072Abstract: The present technology addresses a need in the art for a closed-loop automation system of a managed network that detects and fixes an issue in the managed network with minimal to no human intervention. The closed-loop automation system employs a domain-independent semantic machine reasoning engine as an underlying engine. After detecting the issue in the managed network, the system searches through a knowledge base to find a match for the detected issue. The knowledge base includes previously collected knowledge from subject matter experts and maintenance teams. The system then proposes a remedial action to a user of the managed network for approval. After approval by the user, the system implements the remedial action.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 10, 2020Publication date: March 10, 2022Inventors: Ammar Rayes, Arun Mammen Thomas, Samer Salam, Michael Michaelides, Arabinda Samantaray, Madhavan Kasthurirangan, Ram Prasanna Govind Krishnan, Asad Ghayas Ahmed, Thuan Quang Truong, Ajay Madhavan, Xixi Luo, Samhith Venkatesh

Publication number: 20220071825Abstract: A pulling mechanism using a motor, and a rolling tube or rod of sufficient strength to pull a patient lying on a sheet on the bed is provided to move patients up the bed with little manual effort. In most hospitals and care facilities a common problem is that patients tend to slip down the beds causing discomfort for the patient. Patients have to be moved-up to comfortable position on the bed. Currently this is done manually by two nursing staff one on either side of the bed, with the patient on a slide sheet and pulling the patient manually up using the slide sheet. This simple but strenuous operation has been the cause of back problems for many nursing staff. The current invention is a way to reduce or eliminate this injury to nursing staff by mechanizing the pull-up operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 10, 2020Publication date: March 10, 2022Inventors: Mammen Thomas, Sarah Peter, Elizabeth Thomas

Publication number: 20220066976Abstract: PCI-Express (PCIE) is a Bus or I/O interconnect standard typically used for communication between a computer or computing system root complex and a plurality of peripheral devices, where the PCIE system typically include a PCIE switch which has only a single inbound PCIE port. An outbound PCIE port on the computing system connects to the single inbound PCIE port of the PCIE switch. The invention discloses a PCIE based interconnect scheme enabling switching and inter-connection between a plurality of PCIE enabled systems, each having a PCIE root complex forming a cluster. The technical advances and scalability of PCIE architecture can be applied to enable data transport between the systems forming the cluster. The PCIE network switch comprise a plurality of inbound ports such that each of the plurality of computing systems connects to an inbound port of the network switch for enabling data transmission and communication within the cluster.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2021Publication date: March 3, 2022Inventor: Mammen Thomas

Patent number: 11194754Abstract: PCI Express is a Bus or I/O interconnect standard for use inside the computer or embedded system enabling faster data transfers to and from peripheral devices. The standard is still evolving but has achieved a degree of stability such that other applications can be implemented using PCIE as basis. A PCIE based interconnect scheme to enable switching and inter-connection between multiple PCIE enabled systems each having its own PCIE root complex, such that the scalability of PCIE architecture can be applied to enable data transport between connected systems to form a cluster of systems, is proposed. These connected systems can be any computing, control, storage or embedded system. The scalability of the interconnect will allow the cluster to grow the bandwidth between the systems as they become necessary without changing to a different connection architecture.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2016Date of Patent: December 7, 2021Inventor: Mammen Thomas

Publication number: 20210182714Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for diagnostic tools rendering auditable reasoning of underlying rule engines. A method includes a computing system running a software tool executing an iteration of an underlying rule engine of the software tool to compute at least one input fact; sending a command over a communication interface to a fact source and obtaining an output from the fact source over the communication interface; recording the output from the fact source in a diagnostic event construct; recording a reference to the diagnostic event construct in an inference construct; displaying information of the inference construct in a conclusion view user interface; and displaying information of the diagnostic event construct referenced by the inference construct in an expanded view user interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 13, 2020Publication date: June 17, 2021Inventors: Asad Ghayas Ahmed, Arun Mammen Thomas, Madhavan Kasthurirangan, Smruti Lele, Samer Salam

Publication number: 20210021529Abstract: Datalink frames or networking packets contain protocol information in the header and optionally in the trailer of a frame or a packet. We are proposing a method in which part of or all of the protocol information corresponding to a frame or a packet is transmitted separately in another datalink frame. The “Separately Transmitted Protocol Information” is referred to as STPI. The STPI contains enough protocol information to identify the next hop node or port. STPI can be used avoid network congestion and improve link efficiency. Preferably, there will be one datalink frame or network packet corresponding to each STPI, containing the data and the rest of the protocol information and this frame/packet is referred to as DFoNP. The creation of STPI and DFoNP is done by the originator of the frame or packet such as an operating system.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 4, 2020Publication date: January 21, 2021Inventors: George Madathilparambil George, Susan George, Mammen Thomas

Patent number: 9996626Abstract: Techniques are described for selecting content items in various manners, such as by selecting product-related content items for display to consumer users. The content items may include advertisements or other promotional materials, and the selecting may be performed as part of determining particular promotional materials to display to particular users in particular situations, such as to accompany search results. In addition, the selecting of particular content items may be based on categorization of products indicated in search results and/or based on search terms used in searches performed on retail web sites. Particular content items are then selected based on the categorization, which may be for products distinct from those indicated in the search results, and may then be displayed with or otherwise in association with the search results.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2011Date of Patent: June 12, 2018Assignee: RICHRELEVANCE, INC.Inventors: Jacob Daniel Bailey, Arun Mammen Thomas

Patent number: 9554772Abstract: A method and process is described for providing Non-Invasive three dimensional (3-D) image of a patient such that during surgical or other procedures, the person performing the procedure can visually identify the organs and the location of the instruments in real time inside the body. Such a non-invasive imaging and reconstruction using spatially coordinated imaging in three dimensions is a very valuable tool especially to the surgical community. The high powered computing capabilities, advances in the imaging techniques, individually or in combination when combined with noise filtering and error correction capabilities, have made accurate 3-D imaging in real time from scans a reality. These 3-D images are also used as a diagnostic tool, a practice tool and a teaching tool by the medical community. There may be other applications in these and related areas which may emerge as technology develops and they become apparent to individuals practicing the art.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2014Date of Patent: January 31, 2017Inventors: Mammen Thomas, Arun Mammen Thomas
