  • Publication number: 20120121780
Abstract: A beverage appliance includes a housing having a liquid reservoir, a brewing station disposed within the housing and in fluid communication with the liquid reservoir, a grinding station disposed within the housing and being functionally separate from said brewing station, and a brewing carriage being selectively movable between a first position adjacent the grinding station and a second position adjacent the brewing station. Movement of the brewing carriage between the first and second position shifts a beverage ingredient in the brewing carriage from the first position to the second position and when the brewing carriage is in the in said second position, liquid is dispensed from the liquid reservoir and directed to the brewing carriage to produce a brewed beverage.

  • Publication number: 20120007467
Abstract: A commutator has a plurality of commutator segments fixed to an insulating support member. The commutator segments are formed by cold or hot forming a copper billet cut from a length of copper wire. Each billet has a volume approximately equal to the volume of one commutator segment. Each commutator segment has a main body and an anchor integrally formed with the main body. The commutator segments are spaced about a circle and then an insulating support member is molded to the commutator segments to fix the commutator segments to the support member.

  • Publication number: 20070157780
Abstract: A machine is disclosed for cutting a piece of styrofoam or like material. This styrofoam cutting machine comprises a working platform, a support arm fixed on the working platform, a heating wire attached to the end of the support arm, and a protective mantle that is positioned around the heating wire. The protective mantle around the heating wire prevents the machine operator from coming into direct contact with the heating wire and thus prevents accidents, making the operation safer and more reliable.

  • Patent number: 5862946
Abstract: The present invention is directed to precise, accurate mixing two or more chemicals in a metered vessel to achieve a precise, accurate concentration of the chemicals. More particularly, the chemicals are mixed in a vessel having constricted vent tubes with level sensors to precisely and accurately determine the volume of chemical introduced into the vessel. Most specifically, the vessel is closed so that the introduction of the chemicals increases the vessel pressure to enhance the mixing of the chemicals, decrease turbulence and enhance the accuracy of the level sensors.
