    Abstract: A solar cell photovoltaic device using ultrathin films of polycrystalline silicon and deep uneven surface structures is disclosed. According to one embodiment, the uneven structures include one or more pits having a depth of at least 10 microns. According to another embodiment, the uneven structures include one or more cones or columns having a height or at least 10 microns. Because the unevenness of the structures, the photovoltaic device is able to use a very thin layer of polycrystalline silicon to effectively trap and absorb light.

    Abstract: The MMU services data requests associated with isochronous (ISO) data (referred to herein as “ISO requests”) with a high priority to meet a fixed latency requirement. Such data includes display data for transmission to the display device or other display devices. Conversely data requests associated with non-isochronous (NISO) data are serviced with a relatively lower priority. Such data requests include requests received from the CPU, video requests and copy requests. The MMU utilizes a buffering mechanism to buffer ISO and NISO requests. The size of the buffer that stores ISO requests controls the amount of memory bandwidth that is allocated to the ISO requests and the amount of memory bandwidth available for NISO requests.

    Abstract: Techniques are provided for forming thin film transistors having a polycrystalline silicon active layer formed by metal-induced crystallization (MIC) of amorphous silicon in an oxidizing atmosphere. In an aspect, a transistor device, is provided that includes a source region and a drain region formed on a substrate, and an active channel region formed on the substrate and electrically connecting the source region and the drain region. The active channel region is formed with a polycrystalline silicon layer having resulted from annealing an amorphous silicon layer formed on the substrate and having a metal layer formed thereon, wherein the annealing of the amorphous silicon layer was at least partially performed in an oxidizing ambience, thereby resulting in crystallization of the amorphous silicon layer to form the polycrystalline silicon layer.

A frame may be coupled to the inner cutter. An outer cutter may be coupled to the frame and may include a comb portion. The comb portion may include a plurality of outer cutter ribs with each outer cutter rib including a first and second chamfer and a contour disposed therebetween. The contour may gradually slope inwardly from the first and second chamfer to a substantially flat central surface. Each outer cutter rib may be orientated at a second angle that correspondingly oppositely-faces the first angle. One of multiple data transfer mechanisms is selected for transferring the message from the second thread to the message service of the first thread based on a relationship between the first and second threads. This relationship may be one in which the first and second threads are executing within a single process, within different processes of the same device, or within different devices. The message is transferred to the message service of the first thread using the selected data transfer mechanism and processed in the first thread.

    Abstract: The present invention provides phosphor inks configured to achieve high efficiency in converting LED light from one wavelength to another. The phosphor ink composition for deposition on an LED device comprises a phosphor component having nano-phosphor particles on the order of 100 to 1000 nanometers, and a curable resin component. In particular, the nano-phosphor particles are uniformly dispersed throughout the ink composition. The nano-phosphor particles may be formed by a size reduction process carried out on larger phosphor particles on the order of 1 to 50 micrometers. Preferably, the size reduction process is based on solvent wet milling. Methods for preparing the phosphor inks based on forming the nano-phosphor particles from larger particles by solvent wet milling are also provided.
