Abstract: Techniques are described for analyzing a video for memorability, identifying content features of the video that are likely to be memorable, and scoring specific content features within the video for memorability. The techniques can be optionally applied to selected features in the video, thus improving the memorability of the selected features. The features may be organic features of the originally captured video or add-in features provided using an editing tool. The memorability of video features, text features, or both can be improved by analyzing the effects of applying different styles or edits (e.g., sepia tone, image sharpen, image blur, annotation, addition of object) to the content features or to the video in general. Recommendations can then be provided regarding memorability score caused by application of the image styles to the video features.

Abstract: A search term suggestion engine of a computing device receives characters of user data as the characters are input. The user data is at least part of a search term to be provided to one of multiple applications to search for the search term. An indication of multiple suggestion sources is received from the one application, and one or more suggested search terms are obtained, from the multiple suggestion sources, based on the received characters. One or more suggested search terms can also be obtained from the multiple suggestion sources based on one or more linguistic alternatives for the received characters. The one or more suggested search terms are combined into a combined set of suggested search terms, and the combined set of suggested search terms is returned to a search user interface for presentation to the user.

Abstract: A system level search user interface that includes both a data entry portion and a search identification portion is displayed. Data input by a user as a search term is displayed in the data entry portion, and identifiers of each of one or more scopes on the computing device that can be searched using the search term are displayed in the search identification portion. Search results based on a selected scope are displayed in a search results portion of the system level search user interface. A set of keyboard shortcuts allow users to quickly search using any of the scopes, and see previews of a number of results that each of the scopes return. Additionally, the system level search user interface allow users to easily focus on different search result entries, and efficiently change scopes for searching.

Abstract: In non-limiting examples of the present disclosure, systems, methods and devices for surfacing one or more location-based messaging groups are presented. Geolocation information associated with a current location of a client computing device may be sent to a group messaging service. A request to identify one or more location-based messaging groups corresponding to the current location of the client computing device may be sent from a group messaging application to the group messaging service. Information associated with one or more location-based messaging groups for which the current location of the client computing device meets a location-based threshold may be received from the group messaging service, and the one or more location-based messaging groups for which the current location of the client computing device meets the location-based surfacing threshold may be surface on a display of the client computing device.

Abstract: A curable composition comprising (a) an organopolysiloxane comprising a curable functional group; (b) a cross-linker comprising a silyl hydride group or a thiol group; (c) a reaction accelerator; (d) optionally an inhibitor; and (e) optionally other additives. The curable composition exhibits high refractive index and optical clarity. The curable composition can be used to prepare a cured material that exhibits high refractive index, optical clarity, crack resistance, and low moisture vapor permeability.

Abstract: Materials and methods for treatment of pulmonary bulla are provided. A peptide comprising between about 7 amino acids and about 32 amino acids in a solution may be introduced to a target site. A hydrogel barrier may be provided at the target site in order to treat the pulmonary bulla.

Abstract: A synthesis process for making a benzoxazine compound containing at least one benzoxazine unit from aromatic amine containing at least one primary amino group, at least one phenolic compound with at least one ortho-hydrogen, and alkyl formcel. In one embodiment, the aromatic amine is reacted with alkyl formcel to generate an alkoxymethyl intermediate compound. Subsequently, the intermediate compound is reacted with a phenol to generate the benzoxazine compound. In another embodiment, the benzoxazine compound is formed by reacting aromatic amine with alkyl formcel and phenol in one reaction step. Also disclosed is a method for isolating the alkoxymethyl compound formed by reacting aromatic amine with alkyl formcel. The isolated alkoxymethyl compound is useful as a reactant in a subsequent reaction.

Abstract: A system includes a plurality of summarization engines, each summarization engine to receive video content, via a processing system, and to provide a summary of the video content, thereby providing a plurality of summaries of the video content. The system includes a plurality of meta-algorithmic patterns, each meta-algorithmic pattern to be applied to at least two of the summaries to provide, via the processing system, a meta-summary of the video content using the at least two summaries, thereby providing a plurality of meta-summaries of the video content. The system includes an evaluator to evaluate the plurality of summaries and the plurality of meta-summaries and to determine similarity measures of the video content over each given class of a plurality of classes of video content, and to select a class of the plurality of classes based on the determined similarity measures.

Abstract: Data allocation based on secure information retrieval is disclosed. One example is a system including an information processor communicatively linked to a query processor and a plurality of data processors respectively associated with a plurality of datasets. The information processor receives a request from the query processor for identification of a target dataset to be associated with a query term. The information processor generates a random permutation, and receives a secure version of the query term from the query processor, and receives secure versions of a collection of candidate terms from each of a plurality of data processors, each candidate term representing a cluster of similar terms in the associated dataset. The information processor determines similarity scores between the secure version of the query term and secure versions of the candidate terms, and identifies the target dataset of the plurality of datasets based on the determined similarity scores.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are techniques for determining the position of a light beam on a beam shaping device. A feature can be formed on the beam shaping device to affect at least a portion of a light beam when the feature is illuminated by the light beam. When the light beam is directed onto the feature on the beam shaping device, a feature detection signal may be generated by a detector in response to detecting at least the portion of the light beam affected by the feature that has been illuminated by the light beam. The position of the light beam on the beam shaping device at a time instant can then be determined based, at least in part, on the feature detection signal.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and a calorimetric device for performing colorimetric analysis of a test fluid to evaluate associated physiological parameters. The images of the test strip at different heights are captured by the calorimetric device and based on analysis of the captured images, a plurality of geometric parameters respectively associated with the test strip is determined. Based on the plurality of geometric parameters, an image resizing factor is determined and resized images are generated based on the image resizing factor. Upon generating the resized images, calorimetric values respectively associated with the resized images are determined based on which physiological parameters associated with the test fluid are evaluated.
