  • Publication number: 20070162568
Abstract: Systems and methods provide for dynamic generation of media content at the point that content is served. The system and method work within the bounds of simple, existing, open protocols and the media files served are playable by standard media playback clients. The method is driven by a request for media content from a client specifying an edit list. The server opens one or more source files and selects portions of one or more files to transmit based on edit list instructions, and sequentially writes those portions to an output for serving to the client. The method allows for various modifications of the content before serving.

  • Patent number: 7242944
Abstract: The method and system provides for receiving at a local base transceiver station a wireless signal and for routing that signal from the local base transceiver station to a remote base station controller. In exemplary embodiments, control logic stored in local components of a wireless telecommunications network can select one of multiple remote base station controllers to which to route the signal. Further, local telecommunications components can make these selections based on the occurrence of various triggering events, such as the occurrence of a particular time/day/date, or such as the involvement of a particular client station, or the signal having a particular form or content.

  • Publication number: 20070144967
Abstract: A method of separating a first fluid from a second fluid may include prewetting with the first fluid at least one channel defined by a separation device, the at least one channel thereby containing a column of the first fluid along its length. A combined flow of the first fluid and the second fluid may be presented to the separation device, so that the at least one channel is in fluid communication with the combined flow. Fluid pressure may be applied across the combined flow and the separation device, but the applied pressure should not exceed the capillary pressure in the at least one channel. Otherwise, the combined flow may be forced through the separation device. In this manner, the first fluid flows through the at least one channel, and the second fluid is excluded from the at least one channel, thereby separating at least a portion of the first fluid from the second fluid.

Abstract: An active audio matrix decoding method and apparatus to generate multi-channel audio signals from a stereo channel audio signal. The method includes: decoding a stereo channel audio signal into a multi-channel signal, extracting a power vector of each channel signal by multiplying a magnitude of each decoded channel signal by positions of a plurality of channel speakers, extracting a vector of a virtual sound source existing between each channel by linearly combining power vector values of each decoded channel, extracting a vector value of a dominant sound image by linear combination of the vectors of the extracted virtual sound sources and normalizing the position of each channel speaker with respect to the vector value of the dominant sound image, and distributing a gain value to each channel position by comparing the magnitude of an entire decoded channel signal with the magnitude of each channel signal.

Abstract: A computing device includes a deployment engine to communicate with a deployment repository that includes metadata that is used in the deployment of an application. The metadata may include references or links to resources to be included in the deployment of the application. The deployment engine determines whether the deployment repository contains new or updated metadata and/or resources that the computing device can download. The metadata includes information that allows the deployment engine to correctly deploy or update an application on the computing device.

  • Publication number: 20070131646
Abstract: A method is provided for creating a plurality of substantially uniform nano-scale features in a substantially parallel manner in which an array of micro-lenses is positioned on a surface of a substrate, where each micro-lens includes a hole such that the bottom of the hole corresponds to a portion of the surface of the substrate. A flux of charged particles, e.g., a beam of positive ions of a selected element, is applied to the micro-lens array. The flux of charged particles is focused at selected focal points on the substrate surface at the bottoms of the holes of the micro-lens array. The substrate is tilted at one or more selected angles to displace the locations of the focal points across the substrate surface. By depositing material or etching the surface of the substrate, several substantially uniform nanometer sized features may be rapidly created in each hole on the surface of the substrate in a substantially parallel manner.

  • Patent number: 7230949
Abstract: The present invention provides an efficient system and method for routing information through a dynamic network. The system includes at least one ingress point and one egress point. The ingress and egress point cooperate to form a virtual circuit for routing packets to destination subnets directly reachable by the egress point. The egress point automatically discovers which subnets are directly accessible via its local ports and summarizes this information for the ingress point. The ingress point receives this information, compiles it into a routing table, and verifies that those subnets are best accessed by the egress point. Verification is accomplished by sending probe packets to select addresses on the subnet. Additionally, the egress point may continue to monitor the local topology and incrementally update the information to the ingress to allow the ingress to adjust its compiled routing table.
