  • Patent number: 11169888
Abstract: A storage system according to certain embodiments includes a client-side repository (CSR). The CSR may communicate with a client at a higher data transfer rate than the rate used for communication between the client and secondary storage. During copy operations, for instance, some or all of the data being backed up or otherwise copied to secondary storage is stored in the CSR. During restore operations, copies of the data stored in the CSR is accessed from the CSR instead of from secondary storage, improving performance. Remaining data blocks not stored in the CSR can be restored from secondary storage.

  • Publication number: 20210332313
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and process for converting organic waste to biogas with high methane content and improved organic conversion efficiency. Disclosed process consists of two stages and in the first stage, shredded organic waste is digested in primary digester in which biodegradable organic fractions present in waste gets converted to volatile fatty acids and alcohols dissolved in aqueous solution by hydrolytic and acidogenic microorganisms. Primary digester effluent pH, is adjusted to about 6.8-7.5 by addition of controlled alkali solution. Neutralized waste slurry is separated into liquid solution called as leachate and digested solid sludge. In the second stage, liquid leachate comprising volatile fatty acids are converted to biogas with methane content in the range 80-86% by methanogenic microbial culture in main digester under anaerobic conditions.

  • Publication number: 20210334002
Abstract: An improved information management system is provided herein for managing secondary storage computing devices when one or more become unavailable. For example, a first secondary storage computing device in a pool of secondary storage computing devices can run a storage manager virtual machine (VM) that manages secondary copy and restore operations. A second secondary storage computing device in the pool can run a virtualization engine that manages the storage manager VM. The virtualization engine can replicate the storage manager VM data to other secondary storage computing devices in the pool. If the first secondary storage computing devices becomes unavailable, the second secondary storage computing device can instruct a third secondary storage computing device in the pool to launch a replicated storage manager VM using the replicated storage manager VM data stored therein. Thus, the third secondary storage computing device can act as the now unavailable first secondary storage computing device.

  • Publication number: 20210334171
Abstract: An improved content indexing (CI) system is disclosed herein. For example, the improved CI system may include a distributed architecture of client computing devices, media agents, a single backup and CI database, and a pool of servers. After a file backup occurs, the backup and CI database may include file metadata indices and other information associated with backed up files. Servers in the pool of servers may, in parallel, query the backup and CI database for a list of files assigned to the respective server that have not been content indexed. The servers may then request a media agent to restore the assigned files from secondary storage and provide the restored files to the servers. The servers may then content index the received restored files. Once the content indexing is complete, the servers can send the content index information to the backup and CI database for storage.

  • Publication number: 20210336606
Abstract: A glitch filter is provided. The glitch filter receives an input signal and sets a voltage level of an intermediary input node in accordance with a state of the input signal. The glitch filter charges or discharges a switched capacitance based on the voltage level of the intermediary input node and charges or discharges a filter capacitance based on a charge of the switched capacitance. The glitch filter sets a state of an output signal based on the charge of the filter capacitance. The glitch filter includes a reset stage that at least partially filters a burst of glitches in the input signal from the output signal by controlling the charge of the switched capacitance based on the state of the input signal and the state of the output signal.

  • Patent number: 11157702
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for providing contextual outputs based on varying coordinates related to a target event is provided. The method is implemented by a processor. The processor receives the target event based on a user input and the varying coordinates. The processor then executes a semantic analysis and relationships building operation on the varying coordinates and the target event to generate proposals and provides the contextual outputs based on the proposals. Note that the semantic analysis and relationships building operation reduces recommendation errors by and increases a computing efficiency of the processor with regard to providing the contextual outputs.

  • Publication number: 20210326214
Abstract: The data storage system according to certain aspects can implement partial file restore, where only a portion of the secondary copy of a file is restored. Such portion may be designated by one or more application offsets for the file. The system may provide an in-chunk index that includes mapping information between the application offsets and the secondary copy offsets. Chunks may refer to logical data units in which secondary copies are stored, and the in-chunk index for a chunk may be stored in secondary storage with the chunk. Because the mapping information may not be provided at a fixed interval, the system can search through application offsets in the in-chunk index to locate the secondary copy offset corresponding to the portion application offset(s). In this manner, the system may restore the designated portion of the secondary copy in a fast and efficient manner by using the in-chunk index.
