  • Patent number: 10684994
Abstract: One or more techniques and/or computing devices are provided for data synchronization. For example, an in-flight log may be maintained to track storage operations that are received by a first storage node, but have not been committed to both first storage of the first storage node and second storage of a second storage node that has a replication relationship, such as a disaster recovery relationship, with the first storage node. A dirty region log may be maintained to track regions within the first storage that have been modified by storage operations that have not been replicated to the second storage. Accordingly, a catchup synchronization phase (e.g., asynchronous replication by a resync scanner) may be performed to replicate storage operations (e.g., replicate data within dirty regions of the first storage that were modified by such storage operations) to the second storage until the first storage and the second storage are synchronized.

  • Publication number: 20200183802
Abstract: An illustrative data storage management system is aware that certain data storage resources for storing/serving primary data operate in a partnered configuration. Illustrative components of the data storage management system analyze the failover status of the partnered primary data storage resources to determine which is currently serving/storing primary data and/or snapshots targeted for backup. When detecting that a first partnered primary data storage resource has failed over to a second primary data storage resource, the example storage manager changes the assignment of backup resources that are pre-administered for the targeted data. Accordingly, the example storage manager assigns backup resources, including at least one media agent, that are associated with the second primary data storage resource, and which are “closer” thereto from a geography and/or network topology perspective, even if the pre-administered backup resources are available for backup.

  • Publication number: 20200182111
Abstract: An exhaust device (108) for a vehicle is provided. The exhaust device (108) includes an outer shell (202), an inlet (206) to receive exhaust gases, an outlet (208), an inner shell (204) received within the outer shell (202), a pair of partition walls (216) and a Helmholtz neck (220). The inner shell (204) defines an inner volume (210). A plurality of first circumferential openings (212) extending through the inner shell (204) fluidly communicates the inlet (206) with the inner volume (210). A plurality of second circumferential openings (214) extending through the inner shell (204) fluidly communicates the outlet (208) with the inner volume (210). The pair of partition walls (216) is disposed between the inner shell (204) and the outer shell (202). The pair of partition walls (216), the inner shell (204) and the outer shell (202) define a Helmholtz chamber (218) therebetween. • Patent number: 10673943
Abstract: Certain embodiments disclosed herein reduce or eliminate a communication bottleneck at the storage manager by reducing communication with the storage manager while maintaining functionality of an information management system. In some implementations, a client obtains information for enabling a secondary storage job (e.g., a backup or restore) from a storage manager and stores the information (which may be referred to as job metadata) in a local cache. The client may then reuse the job metadata for multiple storage jobs reducing the frequency of communication with the storage manager. When a configuration of the information management system changes, or the availability of resources changes, the storage manager can push updates to the job metadata to the clients. Further, a client can periodically request updated job metadata from the storage manager ensuring that the client does not rely on out-of-date job metadata.

  • Publication number: 20200167240
Abstract: Illustrative storage manager and media agent are enhanced to interoperate with deduplication appliances. Advantages are realized when making secondary and tertiary copies and also when restoring from a deduplication appliance. Tiered indexing minimizes how much data is retained and stored at media agents. Tiered indexing enables media agents to efficiently extract needed information from deduplication appliances to make tertiary copies and to restore backed up copies. Interoperability techniques include media agents generating separate data streams to the deduplication appliance. Each data stream carries a different kind of data, e.g., payload data, metadata content, or high-level index information. On initial backup, the media agent instructs the deduplication appliance to deduplicate the payload data stream but not the other data streams, thus intelligently applying resources to data most likely to benefit from deduplication.

  • Publication number: 20200150174
Abstract: An integrated circuit die has a peripheral edge and a seal ring extending along the peripheral edge and surrounding a functional integrated circuit area. A test logic circuit located within the functional integrated circuit area generates a serial input data signal for application to a first end of a sensing conductive wire line extending around the seal ring between the seal ring and the peripheral edge of the integrated circuit die. Propagation of the serial input data signal along the sensing conductive wire line produces a serial output data signal at a second end of the sensing conductive wire line. The test logic circuit compares data patterns of the serial input data signal and serial output data signal to detect damage at the peripheral edge of the integrated circuit die.
