  • Patent number: 10454754
Abstract: At a recovery manager associated with a cluster, a determination is made as to whether a replacement for a first node of the cluster can be elected by the other nodes of the cluster using a first election protocol. The recovery manager selects a second node of the cluster as a replacement for the first node, based on data item replication progress made at the node, and transmits an indication that the second node has been selected to one or more nodes of the cluster.

  • Patent number: 10452429
Abstract: A computer system maintains its computer system components. In an exemplary embodiment, of the computer system, a topology engine generates topology data to individually correlate hardware components, virtual machines, databases, middleware services, and applications based on hardware execution data. A hardware controller determines when a virtual machine stop condition for a virtual machine is met based on the topology data. When the virtual machine stop condition is met, the hardware controller instructs a hardware component to stop the virtual machine. The hardware controller determines when a virtual machine start condition for a virtual machine is met based on the topology data. When the virtual machine start condition is met, the hardware controller instructs a hardware component to start the virtual machine.

  • Patent number: 10454466
Abstract: An output stage of an output buffer circuit includes a first drive transistor and a first cascode transistor (coupled in series between a first supply node and an output node) and a second drive transistor and a second cascode transistor (coupled in series between the output node and a second supply node). Gates of the first and second cascode transistors are biased with first and second bias voltages, respectively. The first bias voltage equals the first supply voltage at the first supply node when the first supply voltage is less than a threshold, and is fixed at a fixed voltage for any first supply voltage exceeding the threshold voltage. The second bias voltage equals a fixed voltage when the first supply voltage is less than a threshold voltage, and is offset from the first supply voltage by a fixed difference for any first supply voltage exceeding the threshold.

  • Patent number: 10452490
Abstract: In certain systems disclosed herein, a distributed data monitoring and management system is provided that can replicate a distributed storage environment. The distributed data monitoring and management system can intelligently and automatically configure data access nodes to form a structure that matches the distributed storage environment. By matching the structure of the distributed storage environment, the distributed structure of the data may be maintained, enabling the data to be backed up from and/or restored to the distributed storage environment and/or migrated to another distributed storage environment without altering the distribution of the data. Further, embodiments herein enable the transfer of data from a non-distributed environment to a distributed storage environment. Thus, in some cases, an entity can migrate data from a local storage structure to a network-based distributed storage structure.

  • Patent number: 10445293
Abstract: An information management system can manage the removal of data block entries in a deduplicated data store using working copies of the data block entries residing in a local data store of a secondary storage computing device. The system can use the working copies to identify data blocks for removal. Once the deduplication database is updated with the changes to the working copies (e.g., using a transaction based update scheme), the system can query the deduplication database for the database entries identified for removal. Once identified, the system can remove the database entries identified for pruning and/or the corresponding deduplication data blocks from secondary storage.

  • Publication number: 20190309968
Abstract: According to an aspect, a method of thermal management includes capturing one or more thermal images within a temperature-controlled space, using a thermal imaging camera. One or more sources of radiant heat are identified within the temperature-controlled space based on the one or more thermal images. A heat level variation of the one or more sources is determined with respect to an ambient temperature of the temperature-controlled space. A control action of a heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system is triggered in response to the heat level variation.

  • Patent number: 10430418
Abstract: An action framework system provides context-based actions in association with a source application. The source application detects selection of a content element presented by the source application. The content element is associated with an application identifier identifying a target application and an action identifier identifying an operation to be executed by the target application on the content element. The target application identified by the application identifier is executed to perform the operation identified by the action identifier on the content element, responsive to detection of the selection of the content element. In one implementation, the source application is a search feature providing different contexts of search results (e.g., from a local file system search, a local application content search, a Web search, a remote application content search).
