  • Publication number: 20240095094
Abstract: Systems and techniques for budget-based management of a cloud infrastructure are disclosed. A system monitors a cloud infrastructure for one or more trigger-action conditions associated with the cloud infrastructure. When a trigger-action condition is detected, the system determines a cloud infrastructure modification action that corresponds to the detected trigger condition. The system may apply the cloud infrastructure modification action to the cloud infrastructure. A cloud infrastructure modification action may modify one or more the workstation resources such that a rate of budget consumption is changed, for example, by pausing a resource, deleting a resource, resuming a paused resource, or changing from one resource to a different resource.

  • Publication number: 20240095552
Abstract: An improved empirical formula-based estimation techniques based on correcting situational bias includes generating a map associated with situational bias in one or more empirical formulas. The map corresponds to trajectories of outputs for the one or more empirical formulas, where each trajectory of the trajectories is based on a change to an influencer variable of the one or more empirical formulas. The influencer variable is associated with data that is stable during the change to the influencer variable. The improved empirical formula-based estimation technique further includes identifying a convergence in the trajectories of the outputs for the one or more empirical formulas, where the convergence is based on adaptable boundary conditions and indicative of a compensation for the situational bias in the one or more empirical formulas, and outputting an inference based on the convergence in the trajectories of the outputs for the one or more empirical formulas.

  • Patent number: 11934678
Abstract: In some examples, a system identifies resource contention for a resource in a storage system, and determines that a workload collection that employs data reduction is consuming the resource. The system identifies relative contributions to consumption of the resource attributable to storage volumes in the storage system, where the workload collection that employs data reduction are performed on data of the storage volumes. The system determines whether storage space savings due to application of the data reduction for a given storage volume of the storage volumes satisfy a criterion, and in response to determining that the storage space savings for the given storage volume do not satisfy the criterion, the system indicates that the data reduction is not to be applied for the given storage volume.
