  • Publication number: 20240053989
Abstract: A processor includes an execution unit for executing a message padding instruction including an operand field indicating a register buffering a message block segment of a message block to be padded and a mode field indicating which hash functions is to be applied to the message block. The execution unit includes a padding circuit configured to receive a message block segment from a register indicated by the operand field, where the message block spans multiple registers in a register file. Based on which hash function is indicated by the mode field, the padding circuit selects a byte location in the message block segment at which to insert at least one padding byte and inserts the at least one padding byte at the byte location within the message block segment. The message block segment as padded by the at least one padding byte is written back to the register file.

  • Patent number: 11899698
Abstract: A computer system is provided, including a processor coupled to a mass storage device that stores instructions, which, upon execution by the processor, cause the processor to store an original string formed of a plurality of characters, perform a wordbreak algorithm on the original string, and tokenize the original string to generate a processed string including a plurality of word tokens separated by spaces. The processor is further configured to generate an offset map between locations within the word tokens in the processed string and corresponding locations in the original string and classify a portion of the processed string as a target. The processor is further configured to identify target characters in the original string that correspond to the target using the offset map and perform a predetermined action on the target characters in the original string.

  • Patent number: 11900711
Abstract: An identification system includes one or more infrared light sources and a camera that acquires images of a user's palm. For example, at a first time, one or more first images may be acquired by the camera using infrared light with a first polarization that represent external characteristics of the user's palm. At a second time, one or more second images may be acquired using infrared light with a second polarization that represent internal characteristics of the user's palm. These images are processed to determine a first set of feature vectors and a second set of feature vectors. A current signature may be determined using the first set of feature vectors and the second set of feature vectors. In addition, a user may be identified based on a comparison of the current signature and previously stored reference signatures that are associated with candidate user identifiers.

  • Patent number: 11900159
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for reallocating host resources in a virtualized computing environment when certain criteria have been met. In some embodiments, a system identifies a host disabling event. In view of the disabling event, the system identifies a resource for reallocation from a first host to a second host. Based on the identification, the computer system disassociates the identified resource's virtual identifier from the first host device and associates the virtual identifier with the second host device. Thus, the techniques disclosed significantly reduce a system's planned and unplanned downtime.

  • Publication number: 20240048614
Abstract: Certain embodiments disclosed herein reduce or eliminate a communication bottleneck at the storage manager by reducing communication with the storage manager while maintaining functionality of an information management system. In some implementations, a client obtains information for enabling a secondary storage job (e.g., a backup or restore) from a storage manager and stores the information (which may be referred to as job metadata) in a local cache. The client may then reuse the job metadata for multiple storage jobs reducing the frequency of communication with the storage manager. When a configuration of the information management system changes, or the availability of resources changes, the storage manager can push updates to the job metadata to the clients. Further, a client can periodically request updated job metadata from the storage manager ensuring that the client does not rely on out-of-date job metadata.

  • Publication number: 20240049043
Abstract: A method for prioritizing data packets in a wireless network. Data packets are received at a SDAP buffer. Flow queues may be created by dividing PDCP buffer into high priority flow queue and low priority flow queue to determine priority for each data packets based on QoS parameters. Based on QoS parameters performing one of transmitting the at least one data packet from the at least one high priority flow queue and delaying transmission of at least one data packet of the at least one low priority flow queue by buffering the at least one data packet, the electronic device may be configured with connectivity or transmitting data packets from high priority flow queue to first stack and data packet from the low priority flow queue to second stack, when the electronic device may be configured with multi RAT multi connectivity.
