  • Publication number: 20100159711
Abstract: Methods of depositing silicon oxide layers on substrates involve flowing a silicon-containing precursor, an oxidizing gas, water and an additive precursor into a processing chamber such that a uniform silicon oxide growth rate is achieved across the substrate surface. The surface of silicon oxide layers grown according to embodiments may have a reduced roughness when grown with the additive precursor. In other aspects of the disclosure, silicon oxide layers are deposited on a patterned substrate with trenches on the surface by flowing a silicon-containing precursor, an oxidizing gas, water and an additive precursor into a processing chamber such that the trenches are filled with a reduced quantity and/or size of voids within the silicon oxide filler material.

  • Publication number: 20090120584
Abstract: A semiconductor processing system is described. The system includes a processing chamber having an interior capable of holding an internal chamber pressure below ambient atmospheric pressure. The system also includes a pumping system coupled to the chamber and adapted to remove material from the processing chamber. The system further includes a substrate support pedestal, where the substrate support pedestal is rigidly coupled to a substrate support shaft extending through a wall of the processing chamber. A bracket located outside the processing chamber is provided which is rigidly and sometimes rotatably coupled to the substrate support shaft. • Publication number: 20090109568
Abstract: The sensitivity of the fly height of a HDD (hard disk drive) recording head to temperature variations can be greatly reduced, eliminated or controlled in a manner to enhance HDD performance under various temperature conditions by affixing a thermal element to the HGA (head gimbals assembly) flexure. The thermal element in this invention is a deposited, patterned layer of DLC (diamond-like carbon) that has a coefficient of thermal expansion that is less than that of the stainless steel flexure. As a result of the placement of this thermal element on the flexure, the temperature-induced angular variations of PSA (pitch static attitude) can be made to compensate for temperature-induced changes in the slider crown curvature, thereby reducing or eliminating fly height variations due to temperature.

  • Publication number: 20080253025
Abstract: Method and apparatus are presented for electrically coupling a slider to ground. In one embodiment, a bonding pad is provided on a side of the slider body separate from the bonding pad(s) used for read/write signals. This separate bonding pad is electrically coupled within the slider body to components that are to be coupled to ground. A separate conductor provided on the suspension (e.g., a trace, a flex circuit, etc.) may be electrically coupled to the separate bonding pad via gold ball bonding. The conductor is also coupled to ground in the hard-disk drive device (e.g., via the preamplifier). The use of the separated bonding pad and trace may negate the need to use a conductive adhesive to electrically ground the slider via its attachment to the tongue of a slider.

  • Patent number: 7286325
Abstract: According to an embodiment of the present invention, an improved method and system are provided. In one embodiment, a conductive connection is made between two metal layers separated by an intermediate insulating layer by providing vias between one of the metal layers and the insulating layer. A conductor, such as a conductive sphere made of gold is disposed into the vias and pressed so as to create a conductive connection between the metal layers. In a further embodiment, vias are created in both metal layers. In such a case, a fixture support may be provided so that when the conductive sphere is pressed into the vias, it is also pressed into the support to improve the conductive connection.

  • Patent number: 7256730
Abstract: The invention concerns a real-time navigation method for locating a rover using three-carrier radio signals of three different frequencies to determine the position of a user, transmitted by satellites. The method comprises a first step for determining “extra-wide lane” carrier phase ambiguity, a second step for estimating “wide-lane” phase ambiguity, and a third step for resolving the phase ambiguity of one of the frequencies. An additional step consists in the application of real-time ionospheric corrections during the third step, these ionospheric corrections being based on a continuously updated ionospheric model of said ionospheric layer calculated by a fixed ground reference station combined with geodetic data calculated by a so-called master fixed ground reference station. The invention also concerns a system for implementing the method.
