  • Patent number: 8146046
Abstract: A design structure including design data describing a semiconductor structure. The semiconductor structure includes a first semiconductor chip and a second semiconductor chip. The first semiconductor chip is on top of and bonded to the second semiconductor chip. The first and second semiconductor chips include a first and a second electric nodes. The second semiconductor chip further includes a first comparing circuit. The semiconductor structure further includes a first coupling via electrically connecting the first electric node of the first semiconductor chip to the first comparing circuit of the second semiconductor chip. The first comparing circuit is capable of (i) receiving an input signal from the second electric node directly, (ii) receiving an input signal from the first electric node indirectly through the first coupling via, and (iii) asserting a first mismatch signal in response to the input signals from the first and second electric nodes being different.

  • Publication number: 20100288467
Abstract: Enclosures for use in hazardous areas include heat exchangers for active thermal management. The enclosures are coupled to a device having heat transfer capabilities. Equipment within the enclosures produces heat within the enclosure. The heat exchanger removes heat produced from the equipment and manages the internal temperature of the enclosures to a level suitable for hazardous locations. The enclosures can be actively cooled or heated using the device.

  • Publication number: 20100284150
Abstract: Enclosures for use in hazardous areas include sintered filters for thermal management. The enclosures include an opening to which a filter holder housing and sintered filter are coupled. The enclosures can also include a second opening to which a vent or a second filter holder housing and sintered filter are coupled. The internal temperature of the enclosures can be actively managed by such a system because air within the enclosure can be displaced to and from the atmosphere through the sintered filters. Air from the atmosphere enters the enclosure via the second opening and exits the enclosure via the first opening.

  • Publication number: 20080113734
Abstract: A method includes receiving a first game play request at a bingo player station when the bingo player station is in a first game state and assigning a result for the first game play request according to a first pattern table. The first game state corresponds to a first result indicator state displayed by the bingo player station, and the first pattern table includes a number of first result levels with each first result level corresponding to a respective set of one or more bingo patterns and to one or more first result symbols. The method further includes placing the bingo player station in a second game state responsive to an aspect of the result assigned for the first game play request. The second game state corresponds to a second result indicator state that is graphically different from the first result indicator state.

  • Patent number: 6718878
Abstract: An approach is provided for identifying black and white pages in a color document stream. This approach may be utilized in digital printing systems. This approach examines a small portion of the color data for a page to identify whether the color data is indicative of the page being a black and white page or a full color page. This approach also examines the relative sizes of compressed color separations for the pages. Pages that are determined to be black and white pages may be printed in a black and white mode, whereas full color pages may be printed in a full color page mode.

  • Patent number: 6590672
Abstract: A printing system includes intelligence for balancing throughput, image quality and memory requirements. The printing system includes intelligence for determining whether to print a page in an interleaved mode or in a single page mode. Color pages containing poorly compressed color separations are printed in a single page mode so as to ensure that all of the color separations of the page may fit into the available memory and that system throughput is sufficient. The pages that are not printed in an interleaved mode are printed in a single page mode. The resolution of color data contained in a page that is to be printed in a single page mode may be reduced to fulfill system throughput and memory requirements.

  • Patent number: 6560557
Abstract: A system and method are described for providing remote demonstration and control of a test and measurement device. The system provides for user to request active instrument panel pages for a test and measurement device from a server. The server includes logic that emulates a test and measurement device instrument panel and provides constant update of the instrument panel page data regarding the remote control of the test and measurement device. The server in the correct message format provides the request for updated status data from a remote controlled instrument, for the selected remotely controlled test and measurement device. The server issues the received remote control requests to the remote controlled instrument. The remote controlled instrument provides data and reacts to commands received. The instrument, upon receiving a command or request for instrument state data, transmits said instrument state data to the server for further transmission to the client user interface for further display to a user.

  • Patent number: 6469251
Abstract: A quad cable construction and a method of manufacturing the same are provided for use in communications for a local area network, while offering significant vapor migration and petroleum immersion resistance characteristics. A cable is provided with inner and outer jackets encompassing a helix configuration of insulated signal conductors. A core filler is provided to substantially fill the core and interstices between the insulated signal conductors. The core filler and inner jacket are formed of vapor proof material and bound with the insulated signal conductors in a manner that substantially fills all grooves and crevices around the insulated signal conductors to substantially prevent vapor migration along the cable length. An outer jacket may be provided that is impervious to gas, thereby permitting the cable to be submerged in petroleum for extended periods of time without affecting operation.

  • Publication number: 20010007277
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process and composition for the recovery of fibre from waste paper and paper broke which has been treated with wet-strength resins. Specifically the present invention is directed to the removal of such resins from the fibre material, so that such fibre material may be recycled to a paper web forming process, by using selected persulfates such as potassium persulfate. Optionally, the persulfate is used in combination with a surfactant. Improved repulping of the waste paper is achieved.

  • Patent number: 6092146
Abstract: A dynamically configurable memory adapter is provided for configuring SIMMs in a computer system which employs DIMMs. The adapter includes a plurality of SIMM sockets, a programmable logic device, an EEPROM, a bus controller, and DIP switches. The programmable logic device includes logic for interrogating and configuring serial presence detect data based on a plurality of SIMM characteristics included therein. The serial presence detect data is read by the computer system memory controller during the boot-up process. The dynamically configurable memory adapter also includes direct wiring between the DIMM interface and the SIMMs to thereby allow the SIMMs to directly talk to the memory controller.
